It's located near places to eat, cute little shops, beautiful trails and a beach. Very enjoyable!EDIT: I think we may have gotten bed bugs from here, please check just to be sure.

*writing under a pseudonym*Location is good, close to the beach, but beware! First night was OK, second night my wife woke up to find many itchy red marks. On inspection we found a large bed bug - see photo. To be fair I did not note other travelers having this issue based on the reviews so perhaps its something new that's come up, but best check the beds carefully. We were located on the 2nd floor of the annex building.

Super Clean, quiet place to stay. Walk to the beach and see the sunset (drive in winter). Friendly small town with plenty of hiking around the National Park and beaches. Wow!!! Truly impressed! We took a chance on this place and called from the parking lot to reserve our room. Rooms were beautiful and clean. A definite favorite of our weeklong road trip through Michigan.Rooms: Clean!!! Fresh and beautiful.

Tried to stay there for a couple of nights, made the booking through a third party, and didn't know my credit card wasn't going through(fraudulent purchase protection from my banking.) Called the Lakeshore Inn to let them know I was getting there late but before I said anything the man who answered the phone was very rude and very frustrated that my credit card didn't work, I was at work, didn't have my credit card with me at the moment and he was very insisted on my credit cards number or a different credit card RIGHT NOW! Once again said I was at work give me some time. He proceeded to call me over 10 times in the span of 10 minutes which was very rude and unprofessional (super rude, telling me things like “I do not have time for this,” and “I’ll just give away your room to someone else your room.”) So if I didn't call to let them know I was getting late I would get there with no room and no call or text from anyone! Very very unprofessional for sure! It made me feel like my bank was right and I was being scammed! I ended up staying in a much better hotel where every penny was worth it.I won't recommend this place to anyone!Horrible customer service!

Stayed here for a few days in August for a trip to the Sleeping Bear Dunes. The management was lovely and the room was adequate. The manager was very present and checked on us a few times to make sure we had what we needed during our stay. Great location, close to the dunes and empire beach. Not too expensive either! Would come back for another trip to Michigan.

Do not rent here! Bed bugs. Rude staff, charged my card even though we didn't stay due to bed bugs, hung up on me and blocked my number. I was extremely polite, they had not reason to be so hateful. Terrible management!! I purchased the room on booking.com, when I arrived, no one was on site. I called, was told there were no more rooms but a room was available at their other location, a key was in the mailbox, they already charged my card that was on booking.com. Upon arriving at 9:30 pm, the room was incredibly warm, the air was not on although it had been in the 80s all day. I took a shower, laid back on the bed and noticed something black on the ceiling. We inspected closer to find it was a bedbug. I called the office again, the lady I spoke with was very rude and unprofessional! I notified her of the bed bug issue(it looked as though they may be nesting in the smoke detector, as there was a lot of feces on it) she laughed at me and said they have never had bed bugs and if it was a bedbug it would be in the bed not the ceiling, and they have been fighting fruit flies in Michigan, it's probably just a fruit fly...I tried to explain that it wasn't a fruit fly, and bed bugs can be in many other places other than a bed, she continued to talk over me and said, what do you expect me to do at 10 o'clock at night. Unfortunately, we were very limited in the area, lodging options were closed or not vacant. When I asked her name, she hung up on me. She then refused to answer my call. We had to leave and find somewhere else to stay...Which was 30 minutes out of our way and twice the cost! The next day, I tried to call the main number, didn't get an answer, They had blocked my number! I have tried to contact the hotel multiple times to get refunded. Finally, I had a friend call with me on the line, a man answered, I asked to speak with a manager or the owner and he sternly said what do you need...I said may I speak to mgr, he repeated WHAT DO YOU NEED! Over and over until I finally told him we needed a refund, the room had bedbugs, I was charged, he said for a room you stayed in. I said no we didn't, he argued that I left the next morning, which was not true! He took my number and hung up on me.

I would've love to recommend this hotel, but unfortunately our trip got canceled because our child care, my 83 year old parents and my sister tested positive for Covid . I booked through Travelocity so Travelocity tried to work with the hotel to get them to waive the cancellation fee, and the hotel refused. My caution with this property is that they will not waive the cancellation fee even if you have a family emergency.

Pot smoking infested nasty place. Confronted management and was told it is what it is deal with it or leave. Rooms and beds dated for what you get for the money not worth it. Look at other reviews they state the same thing. Charge my card extra fees that I was NOT AWARE OF called them on it and they hang up. Rude and to top it off got a rash on my leg that I'm sure came from there sheets or beds.

Rooms were excellent, no breakfast though. But there's a great breakfast burrito and cup of coffee around the corner.The staff is AMAZING. A MAZE ZING ! ! !

Room is okay, but ac is not great, service is poor to non-existent. Location is in Empire so it's close to everything, this place's only saving grace.

Great location within walking distance to restaurants, shops and the beach! Our room and the property were in great condition and clean. Check in was super easy. The bed was comfortable and the room had the basic amenities: fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer and even a sound machine. We stayed over Labor Day weekend and the hotel was sold out, but we didn't notice any noise from other rooms which was nice! Oh and the shower head is awesome :) Thanks for a great stay! Can't wait to visit again!
