JUST DON’T. If you’re getting married, just do yourself a favor, don’t, and spare yourself the headache. Having followed Michael from the start of his career, I am sad to state how terribly disappointed I am in the flowers that were delivered to our wedding. I am positive this post will come with a rebuttal, so here are the facts with pictures.
1. Upon initial phone consultation (over a year in advance), a proposal was drawn up and pictures/lists of flowers were sent to myself for review after vehemently stating how much I did not want red roses for the wedding. Great! Loved them, we decided to go with Michael. (See attached proposal photos).
2. About three weeks out from the wedding, I made changes to the initial contract, adding flowers and also making changes to my Mom’s corsage. Hers should have had flowers similar to my bouquet. Changes were made within contractual agreement times. On the day of the wedding, her corsage was the same as the others (picture attached).
3. It was stated that flowers would be delivered to our church, even though we were getting ready off site. Michael’s contract “releases himself of liability” once the flowers are dropped to whichever site is deemed complimentary to him. I was unable to view them, as I was getting ready off site. This is probably purposefully done, as I would not have approved of the flowers dropped off because they did not resemble what I wanted, at all.
4. My bouquet nowhere near resembled the proposed bouquet. Not one bit. When contacted regarding this after he wedding, it was stated that the flowers in the proposal were used, and the off site florist that he contracts with delivered black pearl rose. They are pretty red for black roses (picture attached). Additionally, it was told to me that the proposal is simply ‘inspirational’. SO, I guess if you’re OK having your bouquet just be whatever if put together, then this is your florist!
5. A picture of one of the boutonnières is also attached. Know that the minuscule amount of ribbon on that will make it hard to pin, and it will just flip around all night. Additionally, I’ve attached the bottom of my bouquet, because that was also wrapped with about two ribbons and just had loose stems. * You have to specify in the contract if you want it wrapped better than a Kroger bouquet. Lastly, all of our table top arrangements were scant in flowers. A lot were browning already.
Email communication after the fact took 3 weeks. I asked for a resolution first and how this even happened (not even a refund), was met with the above contractual excuses, and release of liability. I asked for a refund for the florals that were wrong (corsage and wedding bouquet) and that was denied due to his liability release once flowers are dropped off. No apology or ownership of the flowers not resembling what I picked out, AT ALL.
So, I hope this review spares another bride of paying a lot of money for flowers and a certain look to only be met with disappointment at the end of the day and no refund. Obviously, not all arrangements will look as pictures, but even to the untrained floral eye, they resemble nothing of one another and that is a shame. Yikes.

Five years later from my initial review…I was finally able to secure Michael B Anthony for my special day :) From our first consultation, we knew we were in great hands! Michael has such a talent, from his first proposal to watching his vision come to life for our wedding was truly amazing! The florals were the talk of the event, they truly elevated our guests experience and the design of the space! The florals were so beautiful, my guests were fighting over the centerpieces at the end of the night! Don’t delay in hiring Michael B Anthony for your wedding or next big event, you won’t be disappointed!

We Googled florist in Detroit and so happy we ended up with Michael B. Anthony and We love supporting small, local businesses. I didn’t have too much of a vision, but he listened to what I wanted and executed! The centerpieces were simple and stunning! I couldn’t get over how beautiful the floral arrangements and bouquet were on our wedding day. It was easy to work with him and made the whole process smooth. Sorry the photos aren’t great- but you can see just how gorgeous the florals were. Thank you so much!

We came across Michael B Anthony from a google search. Boy are we happy we did! We couldn’t be more happy with his services! My husband and I weren’t exactly sure what we were looking for, but Michael worked with us and helped us discover the perfect floral arrangements for a reasonable price. Our guests couldn’t stop ranting and raving about our floral centerpieces, bouquets, boutonnières, and pocket squares. We would recommend Michael B Anthony a thousand times over!

Michael and his team were absolutely amazing to work with! I am so happy with the florals that were designed for my wedding day!
From the very first phone call with Michael, he was extremely professional and helpful. I was not very excited to plan floral arrangements for our wedding until after this initial call with him. He made me feel so much more comfortable and at ease with the process.
I would definitely recommend Michael and his team for any florals you may need. The pricing was amazing and the service was even better!

We cannot genuinely thank and recommend Michael and team enough. They were incredibly thoughtful and detailed through the whole process. Choosing our floral arrangements wasn’t something either of us had ever done before or really had a good idea of what we wanted. Michael took the time to get to know us, our style, the tone we were trying to set and pulled together arrangements and pieces that absolutely completed our day. Everyone asked us: how did you pick these arrangements? Where did you get the ideas from? And honestly it wasn’t us - it was Michael and team who made us look so great. Day of, Michael and team were timely and so, so helpful. We’re so grateful to them for everything!

Michael did a wonderful job of designing flowers for our wedding day. The flowers were beautiful and stayed fresh all day - even through the unexpected Michigan heat wave! He was also very responsive during the planning process, which I cannot say the same about all vendors. I would definitely trust Michael with your florals for your special day!

Michael was really helpful designing all of our center pieces, flower arrangements, and boutonnieres while fitting into our budget. I loved all his suggestions and everything turned out better than I imagined! We received so many compliments for our decor and it wouldn’t have been as beautiful without Michael’s help!

Michael & his team truly delivered every step of the way in preparation of our wedding day. He was by far the most communicative and organized vendor we worked with from start to finish, totally patient and understanding with reschedules due to the pandemic, and was beyond impressive with the way he interpreted my and my husband’s vision for our floral and bringing it to life beyond our wildest dreams. I’m not kidding when I say our floral was the talk of the entire event! It was incredibly unique and absolutely breathtaking. I will never get over how gorgeous and detailed Michael & the florals he created were from top to bottom. Couldn’t recommend him enough, and will no doubt be working with him again in the future for any events!

I couldn’t have been more happy with the flowers that Michael designed for my wedding. They were absolutely stunning. From start to finish, he was incredibly helpful, professional, and kind.After our first consultation, he listened to my feedback, and helped suggest options that both fit my budget and accommodated my vision. He is always quick to respond. His team was on time to set up on the day of my wedding, and even used some extra flowers they had to decorate additional tables which was such a nice surprise.I can’t recommend Michael more. I considered a ton of different florists for my wedding, and I’m so glad I chose him. His prices are fair relative to other florists, and his service is amazing.

I was absolutely in love with my flowers for our big day. My bouquet has so much texture and so many different flowers i would have never imagined to have and it was absolutely stunning and my simple bridesmaids bouquets complimented it so well. As for the décor at the venue it was simply stunning as well. I am not one for being able to envision what it will look like but working with Michael he was able to bring my vision to life and make it better than I could have ever imagined and helped me stay within my budget!

Michael was recommended by my wedding planner and I couldn't have made a better decision. He was always professional, patiently helped us through COVID rescheduling, and literally made my dream wedding come true with just a couple of Pinterest pictures for inspiration. So many people commented on the beautiful flowers and arrangements. And the best part? He worked with my wedding planner on the day of and made the process seamless. Hire Michael. He is is a true artist and gem!!

Michael is amazing and did all the floral arrangements for our wedding day. We told him our budget and he was very respectful of it and told us everything we would be able to do to make sure we still had that “wow!” factor despite our lower end budget. The bouquets were beautiful and everyone was so impressed with how everything turned out!

***Update: I just received a call from Michael B to try and have me take down my review, because he doesn’t think it’s fair because I did not use his services. I asked him where I lied at any point in my review on my experience with him and he could not answer. He also wanted to let me know how unprofessional it was for me to leave this review. I would have thought about changing my review had he called to apologize, but when he apologizes and then asks me to take my review down I know it’s not sincere. Overall he has been rude, condescending, and overall a displeasure to talk to. I would never recommend him in a million years.
So I have not officially used Michael B but I would like to tell my experience with him. I setup a consultation with him to talk about doing the flowers for my wedding next year. I had the consultation with him and overall I wasn’t very thrilled with it since he wasn’t able to do certain things I needed. Such as possibly using fake flowers for the blue in our arrangements since there aren’t really any navy flowers. He was late to the meeting and didn’t tell me until he was already a minute late and he didn’t seem thrilled with my budget. He knew my budget going into it but still decided to tell me how my vision would cost over 10k. I told him I was open to change and I would still like a quote. He said he would write it up for me in the next few days.
Which brings us to today where I received an email saying from him that a previous client booked with him over the weekend and that he can’t do my wedding. Mind you I never got a quote or have spoken to him since our consultation since last Wednesday. I found this to be incredibly rude and unprofessional since we had spoken first but it works out since he didn’t seem like the florist for us anyway.

Michael was beyond professional and captured the vision I had for my wedding. The flowers were gorgeous! He is patient, kind, considerate, and listens to every detail or vision you have and makes it a reality. I could not recommend Michael more for any and all events!
