I arrived at the location three hours after check in time. The guy at the front desk was running around chasing his kid around the hotel lobby. I attempted to try Check in. Upon doing so, the front desk clerk told me that my room was not ready. I said, sir, it's 3 hours past the check in time. When will it be ready? His reply was he had no idea when the room would be ready. The front desk clerk then became very unprofessional and told me he would not honor my reservation. I tried contacting the management and the hotel staff. I was left on hold for a hour. I also try to contact the management the next day, and the manager told me that he will call me back in 15 minutes. No response yet. The hotel still charged me for the 2 nights stay that I did not receive. Upon my departure, there were several other customers in the lobby complaining that their rooms were dirt. I guess my whole problem is how do you have time to run around and chase a child around the lobby. The management the staff at this location is horrible!!!! I'll never return to be disrespected by Towneplace unprofessional staff and management team.

Stinky room, lots of stains. HVAC turns off when you're not moving (so no AC when you're sleeping). And of course, the WWE event and/or renovations taking place in the room above ours all night. Sounded like furniture was being thrown across the room repeatedly. Steer clear!

Stayed here on short notice as it had the best reviews in the area. I was hoping it would be the best place and while I really liked the room layouts(I had a studio), my room had little ants crawling out of the kitchen sink. Other than that, it was fine. Nothing special.

Booked a room with Towneplace Suites (Marriott) of Canton Michigan on Feb 27 at a pre-paid rate of $345.87. My stay was to take place on March 4, checkout March 5. I received confirmation of my booking on the 27th but no notification from the system since. Upon arriving at the hotel on March 4, I was told my card was declined for the pre-booking and my reservation was cancelled. My only option was to book at the walk-in rate of $551.40. I was told at the front-desk that I should be able to follow-up with Marriott international afterwards and get a credit for the discrepancy. I have made several calls to both Marriott International and the local Hotel but no one has been able to assist me. The hotel claims they attempted to call me about the card being declined but I have no missed calls or voicemails from them. And my current phone was listed on my bonvoy account. The simple mistake here is that the system should notify the customer if a card is declined upon booking. Had I been notified, I would have supplied a working credit card and still been able to receive the better rate. Since I was not made aware of the cancellation until I walked in to get my room keys, I had to pay an extra $200 for a room.

Excellent accommodations. Comfy beds. Full kitchen w/full size appliances. Rented the studio suite. Even the pullout was comfy. Was there for 4 days. Lots of storage. Blow dryer. Plates, cutlery, pans, dishwasher, laundry area in building. Dry cleaning service. Windows that open for ventilation, which is a HEALTHY feature to have for air quality. Nicely appointed. LOTS of storage. You can borrow things from front desk, from a crockpot to a board game! Breakfast included. Staff is helpful.A little pricey on weekends, but worth it, believe me. You could easily live here extended. It's made for that, and prices are adjusted for long stays. We will come back, if we ever need to, without a hesitation. Like a home away from home. Truly.Rooms: Clean and comfy. Fully appointed for a longer stay.Walkability: Not a lot but easily walkable to a Bob Evans and Tim Hortons..

This place is amazing! Finally an option in the area with full kitchens, which is a lifesaver when traveling with the family. The service has been stellar, the beds are very comfy, amenities are all you need when staying away from home and then some with the in-door heated pool and hot tub. We will most definitely be back.

I can't say much about this place because I didn't stay here. I had a reservation but some of the policies were not highlighted upon booking. When arrived to check-in I was informed of these Extra fees. I asked them to cancel my reservation. I do understand that each franchise has its own policies and I can respect that. I traveled so much that it had not occurred to me that this Townesplace would have the different requirements. When traveling and it's good to call ahead and make sure that you understand all policies. I was able to book another Towneplace only about 25 minutes away for the same price and the same number of nights.

The hotel itself, the studio room we stayed in, the hallways, the elevator, and the foyer were all very clean, well maintained, and apparently new. The room had extras like a closet that went between the bathroom and the kitchen area, a microwave, dishwasher, and full size fridge. The breakfast was anemic, but we were not really anticipating eating before we checked out. I'd stay here again if I came to the area. Highly recommend.

As a Platinum Member, I've stayed in many Marriott properties in the past. Most times if misunderstandings come up, there is way to deal with them appropriately. In this case, the hotel cancelled the reservation, after already checking in. The notation was that my credit card declined the reservation. No one called; it just showed up when arriving in DET that the reservation had been cancelled. When I called to ask about this, the desk initially reinstated the reservation. Then, after getting into the room, I received a call from apparently the manager, that they would need to walk me to another hotel since the room was sold. When I checked my profile, the correct cc was on file, and this was later confirmed with Titanium Customer Service. Funny enough, we then ran into another patron who noted the same thing had happened to them, but they refused to move from the hotel, and miraculously a room was found. While I could've been more persistent, knowing another room was available across the parking lot my schedule was more easily accommodated by just agreeing. But given the management here, and the less than transparent practices, you might be better served if needing to be in the area to look at the Fairfield.

Not a good stay. Was there 3 weeks and every time I asked for someone to service my room, they were polite and kind, but no one ever set foot in my room. Air conditioning broke and it was fixed right away, but wires were left on the floor and I reported it and no one came to clean it up. Pool was nice but I felt like I didn’t matter to them as I was here for training and they had 3 weeks paid for by my company. Really sad because it was a nice room, just really bad service. Another trainee was there too and had the same bad service. We both let our company know how we felt about it on our end survey and the company will be searching for a new hotel going forward.

I was at this hotel for 3 weeks for work. When I checked in they fixed the issue with my reservation. The people at the fro t desk were always nice, but accomplished nothing. I asked 8 times during my stay for someone to come vacuum my room, new sheets and towels. No one ever serviced my room. I was told at check in I would be on an every 4 day service rotation. THEY NEVER CLEANED OR SERVICED MY ROOM! Even after I requested it. My air conditioning went out and they did fix that, but left electrical cords behind and those sat in the same place for the next 1.5 weeks of my stay. I asked a few times to have them removed, nope never happened! Shower pressure was wonderful, but the hot/cold water was opposite on the kitchen sink. The microwave did not have the glass tray, so I couldn’t use it. Closet was nice. Freezer in the refrigerator soaked my food in it and dropped water into the refrigerator.Pool and hot tub were nice, but couldn’t get the hot tub to bubble. I worked late and the staff would allow me to stay later than the 10 pm closing time at the pool.Staff was extremely friendly and I understand short staffing, but my room should have been vacuumed and new sheets and towels at least once in 3 weeks!

Management is horrible, unprofessional as well, other than that it's an alright place to stay.
