After Kramer's South Side grocery burnt down we were looking for a new market for our holiday sausage. I have to admit I was skeptical to try something new. We had tried other markets in the past with mixed results. Having said all that, I have to admit this was some of the best sausage we've had. Both the smoked and fresh were fantastic! A bit on the pricey side but in the end it was well worth it.

Looking for new source since Larry's went out of business. Though I would try this place. Maybe I just got a bad batch, but way to salty for our taste.

The best polish sausage, homemade bologna, and homemade polish meatball mix in existence! Gramma’s recipe! Now when it comes to a Ham, The Meat Shop can’t be beat! That’s why everybody shops there! Don’t take my word! Try for yourself! Grab some homemade sauerkraut while you are there and some homemade smoked beef sticks! Mmmmmmm Good!

I went to this place really excited to check out a local butcher in my new town. 1 star is too much. Somebody needs to call the health department. I was absolutely mortified walking in the door. They aren’t using food safe containers or gloves. Bought half pound of bacon and then ended up just throwing it away because we were afraid to even feed it to the dogs. Absolute nastiness.

The Meat Shop has always had THE BEST Polish Sausage. My husband’s family introduced me to this place back in the late 1960s. Not being Polish, I was thrilled. Have been going to The Meat Market ever since. Always before Christmas and Easter. And since my hubby is no longer living, it’s up to me and my daughter’s family to keep the tradition going. It’s strange how a couple of people who left reviews, are so angry the Meat Shop is not open on the weekend. Well, the owners need to have a life so they are not working on Sat & Sunday. One lady posted 9 months ago they were not open when “supposed to be” . Well, Lady, we have been in the throes of a Pandemic which closed many businesses. And, prior to going to Bay City, just pick up your phone and call. Don’t be rude to my favorite butchers! People need to stop being rude!Just go on a weekday that The Meat Shop is open! 9am-5pm I believe are the hours. Pretty Simple!

The meat is fantastic. I am taking it out of town for my inlaws, the lady wrapped it in 1/2 pind packages for them. So nice!

I’ve never been to this place. My wonderful girlfriend purchased a ham for Easter. It was the best ham I’ve ever eaten. It was the best. She also bought breakfast sausage and fresh polish sausage. The Meat Shop makes my girlfriend more beautiful.

Been vegetarian for 7 years but I missed their meatball mix so much that I had to have it. Safe to say I’m not vegetarian anymore ?? meatball mix is 10/10!!!!!

Went there and got their polish sausage and smoked sausage for Christmas both were delicious. But have tried to go there 2x Since then and they’re not open even though their hours of operation say they should be. My husband is over it. Not making trips back into Bay City just did not have them be open.
