Cozy place with furnished flats. Management is very helpful and organises monthly breakfasts. Management celebrates various festivals and hosts delicious dinners

The experience in IHAA was so nice.Pros:1. Excellent location (Close to Ross and Law Quadrangle)2. Good support and maintenance (Thank you, Andrea, Stoney, and Asia)3. Many good opportunities to be friendly with neighborhood students who are very responsible and kind.Cons1. Very rare Wi-Fi disconnection2. Often noisy due to party musics and voices from students of many nearby residences (Party fields and residences are separated in my country)

I had the opportunity to speak several times with the staff of the establishment who are all charming and extremely dedicated to their clients. Andrea is especially very helpful and sweet.

Not a progressive institution. Disrespectful of both staff and residents. Disrespectful of religious traditions.Avoid this place like the plague. It is not what it used to be.

Think twice before living here. If you are desperate to stay somewhere and are looking for an international community above all else then look no further. If you are looking for reliable amenities then look somewhere else. As a tenant from 2021-2022, I took it upon myself to advocate for a faster and more reliable wifi system for the community as the old one was slow and unusable. The washing machines are 30 minute cycles and will leave stains in your clothes if you don’t look carefully. The staff is overturned higher than any other staff I’ve seen. Maintenance is quick. Appliances are out of date. Only one side of the apartment has an elevator, so moving in, taking up groceries, and doing laundry is a pain. Air conditioners are not cleaned thoroughly and leave your room extremely humid (80%+). Water pressure is very low

It's tough to imagine the gem that IHAA was like a few years ago (just look at all the amazing reviews from >3 years ago), because it has been nothing but an unpleasant stay. I wish more current residents will speak more about their experience to help prospective tenants make an informed decision. In the meantime, I’m sharing mine.Echoing what the recent reviewers have shared about the horrible living situation at IHAA:1) Wireless internet connection was NOT working for 2 months, it took several residents to complain about the situation before Management acknowledged that there is a problem. Many of us did not even know if we would have stable internet connection to take our classes and tests/exams. What was shocking was Management's initial response to the dire situation, denying the situation, stating in their exact words that "we have the fastest wifi situation possible", "it must be your device that is not working, and not the wifi", "you can use the ethernet cable". Because of how poorly the apartments are built, the ethernet cables are on the other side of the room and people may trip over themselves. Though the wifi situation is fixed, Management's attitude is not.2) Staff in the leasing office is not there most of the time, though it states that working hours are from Mondays to Fridays, 8am - 5pm. Have an urgent problem? No one except the maintenance guy is there. Staff is also unfamiliar with their own standard lease agreements and gives inaccurate information, only to retract them later.3) IHAA is known for their events, but events were constantly canceled for the first couple of months. I gave up blocking my time for IHAA's events and only deleting them from my calendar because it constantly got postponed/canceled.4) Appliances are severely outdated and are constantly breaking down. While maintenance is responsive, be once again warned that you may be told that it’s your fault. Maintenance work oftentimes does not fix the root issue, causing never ending maintenance work in the apartment. My room light broke down consecutive times and I had to study in darkness for an entire week before it got fixed.5) There is no storage area in the 3 bedroom apartment at all - the apartment layout makes no sense. If you're not an exchange student and have been living in the US for some time, be prepared that it will be a challenge for you and your roommates in terms of managing space. We store our luggage and stuff in common places like the living room.I recognize that IHAA faced a slew of financial and operational issues, with asking for donations to continue its operations in 2020 and then letting go half of their staff in 2021. Until Management can learn to properly acknowledge problems and give an estimated timeline that things can be fixed and not push blame to residents and shove problems under the rug like that, I cannot for the love of god recommend to anyone to stay at this place. It's not worth it to save a couple of hundred bucks for such a terrible experience. There are many ways to make friends with Americans and internationals, from school, clubs, the gym, cafes, ANYWHERE ELSE - this place is simply not it. You've been warned.

The people here make you feel at home, the apartment is warm and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and caring ...and this warmth makes a difference during the Michigan winter!!

ECIR has a welcoming community and affordable rates. The staff works around the clock to provide the best experience for its residents. Staying here is also an exceptional networking opportunity for Ross students. I loved my time at ECIR!! :)
