They had an error with the U-scan and ended up charging me $65 for items we didn't buy. It took forever to get it figured out and they refunded my card, hadn't shown up yet. I hope it will.

The store is clean and organized. Self check scanners and prebagging are great. Saves time and speeds checkout.

I moved to a location that doesn’t have Stop and Shop, came home for a visit and was excited to shop there

Hi S&S! I hate to be a negative Nancy but I won't go to your store now and will shop at Shaw's. You've reduced the number of check outs staffed by people instead of self-serve significantly. When I go, I usually have a big order. A little luxury is having someone ring and bag my order. I know times are changing and cost cutting is essential, but I don't think it's fair to your workers to cut their hours, or to me to take loads of extra time weighing, scanning bagging and leaving mad. The money you're saving may be walking out your door anyway.

Average grocery store with a range of food options as well as home essentials

Do not like it all that. I have to pay for bags to buy my groceries. There you should be supplying bags. Not happy about this.

I like it. I've been told that it's more expensive than your average grocery store, but I've hardly gone anywhere else since moving to Massachusetts. It's a union workplace, so I support it on those grounds, but it's also a generally pleasant shopping experience. One thing I don't like is Marty, the sweeping robot with giant googly eyes and poor programming to get out of the way of shoppers.

I bought Russell Drivers Sugar Free Pecan Delight on sale today. It didn't taste right and was hard to bite into. After the 2nd bite, I looked at the expiration date and was astounded to see it'd expired 6 months ago. I can understand a day or two, I get it, but 6 MONTHS??? Pretty disgusting. This location has sunk in ratings and I personally have started to avoid it. I've been mistreated by a staff member in checkout, it always seems to be something with this person, and one time I was bothered enough that I actually called the store after leaving. Evidently I'm not the only person to call about her like I did because they knew who it was. Its hard to avoid someone when they approach you. Doesnt matter that I'm polite and quiet. It'd be nice to be able to shop without checking the dates on everything. I started shopping at Whole Foods most of the time because there really isn't that much difference in pricing anymore. I'm returning the candy tomorrow.
