About New Bedford Office Machine Company
Established in 1964 by Alfred B. Vieira, New Bedford Office Machine has been in New Bedford since the beginning. Mr. Vieira started in the office machine business in 1950 working for the Underwood Corporation. Typewriters, adding machines and bookkeeping machines were the workhorses of the modern office then. Mr. Vieira then decided to open his own shop, New Bedford Office Machine. Jeff Medeiros was hired in 1977 and became the main serviceman. When Mr. Vieira retired in 1988, Jeff took over ownership. As technologies advanced and typewriters became a thing of the past, we began service and sales for top brand copiers, and printers. We are still a locally owned and operated business serving the New Bedford & South Coast area.
