“This is such a beautiful store. Everything is so thoughtfully placed and selected. The candles smell amazing (especially the seasonal ones!) and the teas are delicious. We’ve already reordered. Thank you all!”

“Tom was so patient with me. It took me a while to decide if I wanted to invest in an entry light for my 110 year old home. No duh! The result is wonderful. It's so beautiful. Tom packed everything so well and gave me the correct length of support so it hangs exactly where it should with my woodwork. We love this home and the light adds so much joy. Thank you!”

“I purchased a purple wool shawl from here in the fall of 2022, absolutely love it. I love it so much I'm seriously considering traveling to here again from out of state to get another. I can't find any others like it online. I really wished they had them on their website so I could order online or something. But oh well. The shawls are visible outside their storefront on google maps at least. Vouch.”

“Amazing place! One of the places in Salem that aren't super geared towards tourists. No wands or harry potter T shirts. They have a lot of art from local artists and a wide selection of oddities, clothes and body products. The employee who helped us was really helpful and lovely and the music is there was really nice. We came from flying saucer who was only playing Taylor Swift, so it was a breath of fresh air lol”

“I love this shop. About 80% of the furnishings at my Boston home are from Upstairs Downstairs. There, I’ve been able to find a mix of new and old (antique or vintage) items. The owner, Laura, is extremely knowledgeable and friendly and has a sophisticated and elegant taste. I can’t recommend this store enough. For those heavier items, they also ship and deliver.Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this is a MUST SEE in Boston.”

“An antique store that dreams are made of! I quite literally stumbled onto Marblehead Antiques while nearby and it was a delightful find. Marblehead Antiques is so much bigger than it looks and encompasses two giant rooms which are separated by an entryway. I love to seek out antique shops and sometimes they are a big hit-or-miss. This one is a giant HIT! The owner is very interesting and has a story for almost everything. The items are a mix of high-end and low-end with treasures from around the world. This is the type of place where you should really plan to stay a while, carefully sift through all the items and find some special items. If I were local to this area, I could easily purchase so many home decor items in the nautical theme, or good-bones-furniture in need of a little tender loving care. Purchasing an item from this beautiful shop means you're inherently purchasing something with colorful history, and that's a real treat for any novice or advanced antique hunter.”

“I visited this antique shop on July 31st this year and purchased the book "The Bartevians: A Boston family." I am delighted to have had the opportunity to read through the history of Pat's family, which eloquently narrates the remarkable story of the family and witnesses the hardships that America went through during the Great Depression and World War II. Thank you Pat for allowing me to share in your rich life experiences.”

“A gem of a place. Quality people doing quality work. I asked them to glue up and refinish my reproduction antique tabletop. The purpose of the glue up was to turn the 4 pieces of the top into a solid piece. I had removed the skirt before bringing the pieces in. Dan Jr sent me back home for the skirt and they ended up fabricating the pieces to make a full 360 degree skirt. It looks amazing. Then they finished it all with a nice mahogany color stain and light gloss urethane.”

“I had to take some time to write this and help promote Janice and Cal's cute little antique business in beacon hill. they are the sweetest elderly couple, super knowledgeable and explained to me the history behind each of their pieces. shop has a lot to offer but specializes in antique procelains. I bought a beautifulChinese embroidery from them 2 yrs ago and my mom got a pair of Dresden Lamb cup sets today. both will be treasured for years to come. makes me sad that there isn't more shops like this in this mass produced world.(the husband got yelled at for giving us too much of a discount so l gotta help him out here lol)”

“This is primarily a shop that displays an impressive number of clocks for sale, and repairs clocks and watches. The gentleman and his wife who own the shop are old school, very charming, and very helpful. The owner/watch-clock repairman only changed my watch battery on the spot for $15, which is a fair price around here. And on a Sunday afternoon at that. But far more interesting and entertaining was conversation with other customers who were there for clocks and were obviously repeat customers. A first-rate place and conveniently located.”

“You can't always count on it being open exactly by the posted hours, but if you're near downtown Wakefield and it happens to be open, it's definitely worth your time to stop in. It's a small space but they use it well; there are knickknacks and cool antique pieces everywhere you look, and the owners are knowledgeable about what they sell and about the history of the town. This shop differs from other local antique shops in that it sells more small pieces and collectibles, rather than large pieces of expensive furniture and framed paintings. It's a much cozier and more welcoming feel than the showroom-style places nearby where you're scared to touch anything with a price tag on it. I collect vintage compacts and cosmetics and Un-Common Antiques has saved me a couple trips to Concord, as I can find the pieces I'm looking for here without the ridiculous markups and the long drive.”

“Had the pleasure to talk with Wayne, who quickly helped me figure out what to do about a 100+ year old gramophone I had. Really honest and kind, and helped me out a whole lot. If you’re trying to figure out what to do with some old antiques and collectibles, a definitely recommend contacting central mass auctions!”

“Some stuff In here is ridiculously priced, every person feels as if because it's old, it's worth a lot, and that's not the case. But in all honesty it's fun to poke around in here and sometimes you can find some cool stuff.”

“I called Doug to give me appraisals on some dining room furniture ,and odd tables and chairs. He was very knowledgeable about everything and showed me proof of the value of my things ( not very much ). I felt he was very fair and took everything and more at a very fair price. He was responsive and very personable. I highly recommend them.”

“Visited for the first time today. I was really surprised with the selection of decorative pieces - art, etc. Also some gorgeous china sets, pillows and drapery. The prices are reasonable considering what "new" furniture costs and the quality of box store pieces. You definitely want to visit to add to your home furniture collection. These are meaningful and interesting pieces. Definitely coming back soon.”

“This is a small little place right downtown. You can certainly go here for a Swampscott and Marblehead themed item. The employees are always friendly and helpful. Everything has a French feel -whcih I love. Elegant and fun at the same time. Lots of candles, French soaps and hand creams and lots of other items to go with that. Since I love everything French, this is a great place! Baby gifts as well - hand printed tea towels etc. Definitely lots of little items to look at and browse through! Family owned business too!”
