This was my daughter's second time at Camp Emerson. If she could move there, I think she would in a second! It's a special place and we are so grateful to have found it for her. It has been 2 months since she left camp, and she still actively misses it. She mentioned not for the first time how nice it is to be somewhere where she doesn't have to think about her food allergy. That's the icing on the cake of this awesome camp!

Parents beware if you have a child who takes daily medicine during camp. The nursing staff at Camp Emerson has a history of using their judgement of whether or not your child actually needs their daily medicine or not. Resulting in major withdrawl symptoms and trauma, and in some cases, hospitalization. Any competent health provider knows to wean a patient off of an SSRI- the nursing staff at Camp Emerson did not.

As a Camp Emerson alum myself, I couldn’t imagine sending my kid to another camp. I knew from first hand experience that the Lein family puts the safety and well-being of their campers above everything else. My daughter signed up for one session and a week in asked to stay for a second session. She talks about camp almost every day. She made lifelong friends and gained independence during her summer at Camp Emerson.

What a lovely place ... and so caring. I attended a weekend conference last September and the staff and owner were so kind and understanding of my vegan diet. They approached me whenever I entered the cafeteria to inform me of the food selections for me. The place is clean, friendly, and accommodating. If I love this place, I can imagine how kids and their parents must feel about the place. 5+STARS!

This is our second year sending our daughters (11 & 9 years old) to Camp Emerson for 6 and 4 weeks and our first year sending our son (7 y/o) for 2 weeks. This Camp is absolutely magical and so very well run. The director, Sue, is an amazing leader. She is nurturing, kind, empathetic, informative and just an overall great person. The camp counselors they have are so invested in making sure each child feels special and is taken care of. They are so much fun and the kids talk about them all year round! The friends my children have made have become family friends who we see and talk to during the year. We actually had a camp friend travel 7 hours with their parent to stay with us before the start of camp so the kids could ride the bus there together!I would highly recommend for anyone looking into sleep away camps for their child to give Sue a call. She loves hearing about your child and family!

My son has had an outstanding camp experience at Emerson and has made life long friends. Sue Lein and her staff made us and our son incredibly comfortable with a high level of diligence and care for his food allergies (dairy, tree nuts). As any parent with food allergies knows, concerns are abound and details matter. Sue was wonderful and enabled our child to have 3 outstanding summers of camp. Last year, he even called to say he wanted to stay an additional 2 weeks.None of the other camps we investigated were capable, willing and ready to ensure that our son wouldn't be without risks. Camp Emerson did. I cannot rate them high enough. If you want your child to have a great experience AND be safe with his/her food allergies, this is the camp experience for them. The best part- not all kids who attend Emerson are dealing with food allergies. But Sue Lein is making it a priority for her program to ensure that a great option exists for kids and parents who deal with this daily challenge.Thank you Sue Lein for making us part of your family and camp experience. We are forever grateful. The Siegel FamilyAmbler, PA

Our son just had his first summer. He had soooooo much fun. He can’t wait to go back next year and he wants his sister to go. The list of available activities is great and challenges body and mind.

I went to Camp Emerson last summer. It was incredibly amazing. I got to do so many new things, like wake board and tubing and sailing. It was a great experience to not have to worry about my food allergy and the food was so good. The counselors were very nice and I got to learn new tricks for editing photography and the field trip to Ramblewild was one of my favorite things too. I recommend this camp to any kid wanting to go to an amazing overnight camp.

This a wonderful camp that I would highly recommend. The staff is very friendly, and the location is beautiful. The selection of activities is enough to make your head spin, more than anyone could try in one stay. We've been here two years in a row now, and plan on coming back again.
