I have been with this gym for 1 year and recently moved to Central. I have tried to transfer my membership to the PF Central Square for two weeks to no avail.
The website didn't have the option for me to transfer online, and when I called they made me to go to the gym in person to fill out a form. Days later nothing happened. I left a customer request via the app and no response. I called again and the staff was friendly and jotted down my my membership# again to submit a form again(why did you tell me to go there in person in the first place then). A week later, I called again, since no change made at all, and they gave me the manager's number and told me to call him. When I called, the manager told me he was on vacation but was nice and gave me the email of the city manager (the franchisee supreme fit group). Now two days later still nothing happened.
I don't know whether they just want to hold me there until my annual payment on 9/1 or not going to transfer me at all so that I have to create a new account and pay new account setup fee. It's just so annoying that nothing happened after the several nudges.
Over the year, the gym has been alright. There are constantly some equipment pending fixes for days if not weeks. One of the three sinks in the man's bathroom has not been working for a year. But there were not many options around Porter until recently when a new gym opened above Target. I might give that a try if I were still around.

Leaking ceiling for weeks, no AC during 90 degree summers, and the stretching/floor area absolutely reek consistently. It smells like mildew, BO and cat urine. Super depressing to come here

AC hasn’t been working for weeks now.
Great place if you like working out in a sauna.

This place is the most disorganized business I've ever had to deal with. In February, I got my sister a gym membership for her birthday. I realized I signed up for the wrong location immediately and called them to start a hard transfer. They said they would start the process and it would take up to 14 business days. They never did the hard transfer, despite calling numerous times and dealing with two different managers and a dozen employees who all said they would put in for the hard transfer, they already started it, ect. I finally got an email for what I presume to be the GM after asking for their number multiple times and they said they would just cancel the membership and refund the money in 7-14 business days on June 12th. It is now July 24th, there is still no refund given. I've tried to call the location again and surprise, surprise the manager was supposed to be in and did not show. I emailed the original email they had given me and asked what was up and they still haven't answered me. They owe me a lot of money and it's frustrating nobody can seem to get anything done. I would never do business with them again and I'm telling everyone I know about their repeated incompetency, neglect to their daily tasks, poor management and literal robbery of their customers.
EDIT: The response I was given on this review was generic, and of course unhelpful. I am still dealing with Planet Fitness owing me months worth of a refund they EMAILED ME and told me they would be giving me on June 12th. The owner can seem to answer everyone else in a personalized manner, but when there is an actual problem with how this gym is run and (dis)organized, they don't care. 0/10 would give negative stars if I could.

The cost is so much lower than other gyms in Cambridge area, it has everything I needed to work out and crowds are not bad early in the morning.

I like this gym. It’s clean, inexpensive, and the staff are nice.

It's cheap. So build your expectations accordingly. Location is great, facility is clean, equipment not so well maintained or updated. Yes I have reported this to staff and in my survey, things are still the same.

Every time I go, there are more machines out of order. Out of 15 elliptical machines, the TVs work on maybe 2 or 3. Add to that the fact that so many people think the weight stations are just places to sit and relax while they look at their cell phones, that it's often hard or impossible to get on the machine you want.

Location, overall amenities, great. And for the last several months I’ve been coming here, the staff has been great.
The last few weeks, what in the world has happened? I’m literally needing to wave my hands around like an a’hole and raise my voice at the counter to get the attention of these unsmiling self-absorbed dudes lost in their phones right behind the counter.
Just now: I’ve signed my name on the massage bed sheet. I’m standing there in front of it with the pen still in my hand. Dude finally comes over and I say “massage bed, please” and he looks at me like I’m interrupting his day. “The bed?”. I need to confirm this? “Yes” I say as he mumbles the bed number and keeps his head down.
Is there something in the staff’s water supply?
What’s up with their training? Management needs a wake up call. These guys would all be fired quick if there were any basic customer service standards right now.
One can only imagine something pulled the former crew away suddenly and there is no leadership at present.
It’s really a drag on the atmosphere.
The staff seem to really hate being at work. And hey, that’s fine. But i think we can all agree y’all need to keep that disdain to yourselves a bit better! The paying customers expect something a bit more professional.
