its a perfect base, especially if you are taking Amtrak / Acela. Its literally minutes walk and is in a safe neighborhood in downtown Boston. You could walk along the wharf pathway to north end or check out the markets or walk to Boston commons (all within 20 minutes). They recognize your ihg status so all is well. I watched a game at TD garden so took an Uber back - no drama. Rooms are pretty huge and they carry byredo which is nice

It is unfortunate that they do not teach customer service to the bartenders. They are slow, not paying attention to details and yes ignorant. Not professional bartenders at all for the city. If they want higher class clientele, then they need to have quality service. My company hosted an event there and once we went down to the bar, the service quality changed dramatically. Just trashy.

I went to the lounge. Caterina helped me out. She was great, very present. The food/drinks were delicious too. Great experience overall.

This hotel is in a good location and has great service. The area around the hotel felt very safe. All concierge requests were promptly answered, and the check-in staff were very attentive and friendly. The downfall of this property, at least in my room on the 9th floor, was the room, primarily the bed. The mattress was uncomfortable and felt like it had a spring or something firmly pressing against my back. Additionally, there was no sheet in between the fitted sheet and the comforter. I’ve never been to a hotel where there was no sheet in the middle. The only positive about the bed situation is that it appeared to be clean, and there were no gross decorative blankets or pillows on it. With all that being said, I think this hotel fits more into the 4-star range. I’ve had better experiences for the price.

The location, room condition, and view were very good. But the best thing was the service. Mr. Berrut is the best hotelier I have ever met. Thanks to him, I was able to enjoy the interview.

The banquet staff are great. The meeting rooms are huge with lots of light and the decor is very appealing. Great for large events and small ones, too!
Nearby activities: Children's museum is just a few minutes' walk away. Downtown is right there, and so is the Seaport district!

I wish the spa area had more comfortable seating and was larger for longer periods of relaxation

From the moment we walked in the staff was so welcoming and friendly. We stayed for three nights and from day one they acted like we were family. Someone always spoke to us when entering and leaving the hotel. The best service by far of any hotel I’ve stayed at!
Rooms: Large room and bathroom! So much space for a city hotel.
Walkability: Less than a block from South Station and on the water.
Noteworthy details: The customer service was the best service I have had at any hotel! Everyone was so welcoming, friendly, and helpful!

Great hotel in a great location. Most of the staff were super friendly. Rooms were very clean and super comfortable. Breakfast was nice, buffet was tasty but after visiting 3 mornings in a row, at least one or 2 items were always either gone or down to the last crumbs. Bacon was always over cooked. Crispy is nice, it was beyond that though. Other than that it was tasty and breakfast staff provide excellent service. My biggest annoyance was a small thing but the day I checked out I paid my bill and planned to wait in the lobby for my Uber to the airport while having a coffee. When I asked the reception staff where I could order a coffee while I waited she said we recommend leaving the hotel and going around the corner to another venue. Not very 5 star.

This is a really nice hotel in a great location for getting anywhere in downtown Boston. We were treated very well by all of the staff we encountered. We were upgraded to a water-view room, which was nice. I have Club access as part of my IHG membership, and the service, food, and beverages in the club were wonderful. We had nightcaps in the lobby bar every night, and once again, everything was wonderful and very affordable. The drinks didn't cost any more at the Intercontinental than they cost in any of the restaurants or bars that we went to. James, the concierge, was very helpful with information and also booked us a sailboat tour of the harbor.
