We visited on a very wet Monday morning and the helpful staff provided us with a map of the Freedom Trail ($3), directions to the ferry that can bring you home at the end of the trail and we booked on to the next available 'Walk into History'. Rob Crean was our tour guide and he was absolutely fantastic, as British tourists we know embarrassingly little about the history of colonisation and without the context and stories provided by Rob, we would not have gotten as much from the Freedom trail if we had gone it alone. Would highly recommend this tour and a stop at the visitors cente, especially if you don't know where to begin. Thank you Rob as well!

Freedom trail tour. It was a wonderful way to walk Boston and at the same time learn some history. Our tour guide was excellent as he played the part of the time period

$3 for a city map with advertising … more a souvenir shop than a visitor center … use your mobile instead free maps there …

I did a guided tour of a portion of the Freedom Trail this past Saturday. It was fascinating to see the sights and the guide was full of stories. Very nice guy. Unfortunately, he took every opportunity to express his personal views and opinions about current social and cultural issues (LGBTQ, social justice, even Palestine/Gaza) and found a way to tie it into Boston history, sometimes related to the Revolutionary War period and sometimes more current history. I felt he used his platform as his own personal "soapbox". I was expecting a guide that would just simply tell us the history from an objective point of view and then let us come to our own conclusions. I was so dissapointed.

The historical tour is wonderful and informative. We had tour guide Zara (spelling may be off) who was excellent and so enthusiastic (6 stars for her!)
