A classic small town hardware store, with a little bit of everything. And a great shop cat in residence.

An Ashfield institution. A great source for projects and things for the home. The owners are personable and eager to help, and there are always little, unexpected extras tucked away in the aisles. Even a rack of vintage Hawaiian shirts in the summer.

(Translated by Google) Very welcoming shop, where you can find everything you need to do the maintenance of the home and the farm, animal feed, small catches and even ice cream! The Nanci and Laura are charming and very intelligent. I will never forget them.

One of my all time favorite, stores. Everything you can imagine, in an old fashioned, old- timey store. And the nicest, most knowledgeable owners, Laura and Nancy. You can find anything from hats, gloves and socks, to paint and nails. Dog food or rabbit food. Brooms or greeting cards. And ice cream cones!

Great store where you step into an old fashioned, warm, friendly shop. They have a little of everything from nuts and bolts, feed, ice cream cones, Darn tough socks, gloves, garden tools, a little this a little that and a fun store to walk around.

Ashfield Hardware is truly amazing... What a little slice of small town America done right. Laura and Nancy the owners are truly amazing souls.. They are the true meaning of caring neighbors. They check in on the older ones and love on the younger ones. They sell everything you'd need and even ice cream cones for 50 cents. We live in California and just love this little town. Fall Festival time is the best. The community is so tight knit and ONE. Love this feeling. Wish we had some of that here. This place is a hidden treasure! Takes you WAY back to the times when you didn't have to lock your doors and your neighbors knew your name.

I'm just shocked - shocked - that I'm the first person to write something about Ashfield Hardware and Supply. After all their reputation proceeds them as the anti Home Depot. But then maybe it's not such as surprise given that this is Ashfield, where people appreciate a good thing, support their neighbors, and don't need to go blabbing about it on the make pretend world of the Internet. First the store. It's a cute little hardware store with cooking equipment, pet food, children's toys, bird houses, gardening supplies, and hardware. Need cookie cutters, cat food, eggs, a homemade loaf of bread, seeds, some hardware tools, and maybe some bolts? Then you've come to the right place. They also sell ice cream -- for .50 a cone, so children and families are coming through all day long. Now here's a little bit more about the store. The owners know everyone - in a good way. They are really big on being good neighbors. I've heard stories that people stop in to look for something, maybe they need a little bit of wire, and the owners just tell the person to "just take it" -- not going to bother charging people for something so small. I was once visiting a woman who had just turned 95,and one of the owners stopped in at the same time to give her some blueberries - just always looking in on people in town. They also like to help organize local festivals and events, such as a children's fair, and are big supporters of the film festival. So stop by when you are there and at least get some ice cream. Here's a video if that helps give you a sense for the place:
