I truly debated on leaving this review because while I had a terrible experience, the stylist and JCPenney customer service/management were very kind and helpful. Before I begin, I will say that the stylist (whose name I will not mention) was a very nice person and did offer to fix my hair but I chose not to return. Thankfully I was also refunded by the store manager for the price of the service. I visited here a few weeks ago for a full blonde highlight and cut. My appointment was at 2:30 and I did not get out of the salon until after 6:45. I have had many highlight services before, some even at another JCPenney location, and it has always been fine. I left the salon this day in tears because my hair was absolutely horrid. The top of my hair was a brassy, strawberry blonde/reddish color and the ends were a blue/greenish hue. Not only this, but because a fine toothed comb was used on my wet hair, I have extensive breakage and damage which I have never had from previous salons. Highlights typically take a long time for me but never 4+ hours. Additionally, I felt like the stylist was trying to rush me out because they were closing at 7. They did not even offer to dry my hair. I had to ask for it, and they put me under the overhead dryer which no one has ever done to me before. A blowout is typically always included with a color service. When my hair started drying, the stylist did comment on my ends as well as another stylist who was working. The stylist offered to fix them another day, but at that point I had already wasted over 4 hours and really didn’t want to drive back and risk having my hair ruined further, though I agreed. I was then charged $185 for the service when the quoted price online was around $115. I did tip but only because I felt pressured to do so and wanted to avoid any disagreement or awkward confrontation because at that point I was planning to have it fixed. After I left the salon in tears, I immediately called customer service who did rectify the issue along with the store manager. This does not change the fact that my hair looks awful and I had to go to business trips and social events feeling very insecure as I wasn’t looking my best. I also had to spend a lot of money on toners, shampoos, hair masks, and other products to try to fix the color and repair my strands. Please do not go to this salon, even if you want to save money. It is 100% worth it to spend money elsewhere because you will be left with hair that needs fixed and have to put more money into it in the end. I only say this because I don’t want anyone else to have to deal with this.

I love this salon! It clearly has strong leadership with the manager, Mia! She is a true professional and requires the same from her team! It’s so nice to find a clean salon with great deals and a friendly, knowledgeable staff! I have used many JCP Salons in MD and Va - and I like them all! Bad experience with the lady Melisa. First of all when I get the place she was on the phone And told me wait outside it’s takes more than 20 min , Custmer disrespect!!!!! Finally she mentioned my hair too Mach work and she think I can’t pay ‘plus discriminate ‘ due to my hair. Never will be back and tell my friends

Today 7-19-21 around 4-4.30 pm I was in mens room on 1st fl. When I came out of stall there was an African Pervert taking pics of me coming out of stall. I yelled at him WHAT THE **** YOU DOING. He replied Im fine ,Im fine ,then he left bathroom quickly. After I washed hands I hurried to try to find him. He was no where I could see. I suggest that security cams. be closely looked at , and this person , STOPPED!!!! In hindsight I should have called police , called management ,or called news team ( still may do that ) This is completely unacceptable, and not the first time there has been an incident concerning this restroom.But this time it is over the top!!!! I did say something much later to sec. women outside pennys enterence. ( I first thought she was a man ) She just looked at me

Don't do curbside at this location. You will wait for at least half an hour and it's very clear where curbside pick up is located. Not sure what service on the inside looks like but I won't be returning because of poor service.

It's 8:30pm in Monday all I wanted was a pack of socks for my son. I'm at the register and asked the lady there if I could pay there. I couldn't understand what she was telling me since her English was not good. I guessed that she told me to wait in line. Since she was pointing to customers who were looking at stuff and was gesturing that there was another worker who wasn't there so to wait. A minute or so later another lady comes and told me I had to go upstairs because the register was closed. At that point I was mad because that's definitely not what the First Lady told me. I go upstairs and walked about the whole floor and could not find one person at a register. At this point I just threw the socks down and left. I shouldn't have to go looking for someone especially on different floors to pay for an item and then to waste my time walking around and not find one person at a register or at least near. Ridiculous

We went to this location for our kids' back to school haircuts. They completely ignored our instructions for our teenager's hair and buzzed it to the same level all around his head. For our daughter, the lady made it completely uneven in the back. Do not go to this salon for any reason, the staff is inept.

The manager on duty in women's clothing was rude. She refused to come to the register to talk face to face when asked if I could use a coupon that expired yesterday (less than 12 hrs). The clerk was super nice he tried to explain to her that I had traveled quite a distance to shop specifically at this store yet she said "no" and that was that. Even the clerk was upset about it. He was very helpful and patient with me, suggesting I look online for other coupons and even offering to order the clothes for me online and ship to my home so that I could use the online coupon. She should take notice of her staff and follow their lead!

My experience here in a word was horible. The phone attendants were rude, when I arrived at my appointment nobody told my stylist I was here. So not only was I waiting for her my stylist started texting me asking me why I was late. I have never had someone retwist my hair so slowly I was in the salon for half the day, only for me to get home and my entire loc retwist came undone. (I had a 10am appintment and didn't get out until amost 2pm) Don't say you know how to retwist locs when you don't. I litterally spent the entire next day retwisting my hair, a waste of time and money I didn't have. On top of that she charged me extra because my hair is thick. My hair is thick, but she must have complained about how thick my hair was over a 100 times, to the point where I felt bad about my hair. Your being paid, so insulting my hair is unprofessional.

This is another unique few stores left in the US itself . It's Called JC Penny . It has things from men's and women's clothing lines , jewelry , kids departments , shoes , sportswear , and other accessories stuff such as kitchen accessories . They also have their own brand of gift cards to sell too . This place is three levels high . I used to love getting clothing from this store but some prices were to high . The customer service is good and efficient . When it comes to their clothing departments they have fitting rooms to try their stuff on to fit your sizes and needs . When I first saw this place it was very impressive . But I wish most of these stores never had to rely on the internet for business when it should only include customers shopping there that count . Thanks to the internet not too many JC Penny stores remain today .They are nearly extinct or filed for chapter 11 . The internet is not always a reliable tool . Come to shop at JC Penny be committed like a loyal customer should be . So come on down to JC Penny and get the most unique experience you will not soon forget . They look forward to seeing you all there very soon on your next adventure visit there .

TERRIBLE. hair color is blotchy. Asked for 2 inches off got 4 instead. I asked for layers and the hair closer to my face is long, none of it makes sense, uneven all over. Got home to take a closer look and I’m just depressed now.
