“The level of customer service here is excellent. I have a retrofitted grooming van with all kinds of custom hoses and fittings. One of them broke and I had a major leak. I explained my problem to Mike and he was able to retrofit a toilet supply line, a hose barb, and clamps to create what I needed. He cut and fitted everything on the spot. I will be coming here for all my hardware needs in the future.”
“This is a small neighborhood hardware store but they keep an impressive array of hardware, tools, paint, garden, and "lifestyle" items for most DIY projects. Where the big box stores are geared to accommodate contractors, Annie's aims for the individual and their residence. Staff is always friendly, the store is well staffed for their size so there's always someone available for questions or assistance. I really appreciate a hardware store that can still operate in the neighborhood without leveling 15 acres. Factoring in my time and general frustration with large box stores, the prices for a quick trip down the street are competitive with other options.”

He patiently listened to my goals and worked smartly with my budgetary constraints. “A fantastic place honestly, called to talk to them about fixing my dryer, though they didn’t have what I needed I thought I would have to buy a whole new dryer but speaking with the owner I was able to find out what part I needed (which was just the belt) and only needed to spend 8 dollars vs HUNDREDS for a new one. I love this store because even tho they may not have what you’re looking for they always put their customers and their customers pockets in mind”

Don't let the name confuse you - they don't just sell door closers (and dam, they have a lot of them) - they carry many security products and low voltage as well as locks.Mike, the sales rep was awesome and was willing to wait for me couple of minutes after closing as I needed an item (that non of the other suppliers in the DMV had in stock locally) to finish a job.Another big plus is that buying from them you support a local business.Thank you guys”
“WOW!!!! What GREAT service from one of my favorite stores. I've been shopping at this location for years and service was always great. In short, I purchased a Chiminea several months ago, but never had the time to unpack and use.Fast forward, when I finally had the time to open the box. I noticed that there was a huge crack on the outside which made it to be unusable. I called the store and an associate by the name of Jackie, took action that was unbelievable.She wasted ZERO time in getting me a replacement from their Baltimore store. Based on the way Jackie helped from start to finish.....I strongly advise every one to make sure when you purchase an item, use their system with your phone number.The best part of my experience was that she said to give a some time and she would get back to me. It took a few days for her to do the research, but sure enough, she found my info. on when the item was purchased etc. (using the cell number at the register when checking out).Got a phone call several days telling me that I could pick up my replacement.GO GO JACKIE!!!! Thank you so much for your "OUTSTANDING: service and care.By the way, for all that's reading this review...I'm a business owner in Silver Spring Maryland (Ocean City Seafood). “Capitol Building Supply has very knowledgeable staff and they are usually helpful and pleasant to deal with. Haven't had a bad experience in the three months I have been dealing with them. They also have Avery good supply of needed tools and building supplies and conveniently located also. You will not regret adding this vendor to your list!”
“Easy place to unload, and super friendly staff. Showed up at 730 for 10 o'clock appointment. Expected to have to wait till appointment time. Pulled up to gate and stopped. Forklift driver saw me, and came over, asked if I knew where to go. As it was my first time delivering here I did not. He showed me where to park and said to take tarps and straps off and he would get me unloaded. I was in an out in less than an hour. Will definitely not mind delivering here again in the future.”
“***Update*** David you are Awesome. Colony Hardware CO continues to go above and beyond. Again I had a tool issue and they didn't stop until they had answers. David did some great digging on a non-fixable issue with my router table and though he unfortunately did not have a brand resolution from the manufacturer for me but he made some great personal recommendations. I genuinely appreciate that though the issue was small (1/32 of an inch small to be exact) that he went as far as he could to get an answer for me and got back to me right away. That is a dedication to service you rarely find these days. Great company. Keep it up you guys and Thank you so much. *Original Post* My husband and I own a small business making custom wood furniture and anyone who has ever worked in this industry know full well how absolutely important your tools are to your living. I had a reoccurring malfunction on one of my tools and after calling the manufacturer over and over and even returning parts I was completely stumped. I called Colony Hardware CO because the manufacturer said they were the local repair center in my area. I spoke to Wes and we made a plan for me to bring in the entire tool system. It is days before Thanksgiving and 1500, an hour before they close. The entire repair team took me in and we trouble shot this thing until we all learned how to fix it which went far beyond closing time. They understood how important it was for me to have this back and get my builds back on track so they wouldn't give up until they found a solution. It is incredibly hard to find amazing people out there who not only do quality work but still find it in them to keep the human factor in what they do. Amazing work. Thank you”
“Best customer service I have ever seen at a home depot! Made an online order and rushed over to pickup went to pick up but items weren't ready,which was understandable. Within 1 min of seaching the shelves we had workers helping us. Probably the best customer service I've ever seen big chain store. Kudos to the workers there!!!”

Half the people who work here act so bothered that you’re interrupting them at the cash register to check out. Been bugged a few times but writing a bad review because they wouldn’t let me return a $75 product because the cardboard box it came it was partially ripped on the top flap (“unsellable”).”
