We reserved a few rooms at this lovely B&B for guests/family members attending my daughter's wedding last Fall. The location was perfect for a wedding in Snow Hill and the hosts could not have been more accommodating, pleasant and professional. In addition to the comfortable rooms, they provide a delicious breakfast fit for a top rated restaurant. Shae also organized, and caterered a brunch the day after the wedding for any guests still in town, including a delicious 3 course meal and reconfiguring her space to accommodate more people. I highly recommend Chanceford Hall for your next getaway -- it's just a 20 minute drive from the gorgeous Assateauge National Seashore Beach and the town of Berlin as well as just 30 minutes from Chincoteague.

Had a great stay at Chanceford Hall! The proprietor was extremely welcoming and catered to our needs as a family. The three-course breakfast was delicious and used ingredients that were grown in their garden. Amazing atmosphere and history.

We stayed at the Chanceford Inn during our trip to Assateague Island with our family and had such a lovely time. The rooms and grounds were very clean and elegantly appointed. Breakfasts were declicious with each day's offerings more impressive than the day before. The Von Marsh family were wonderful hosts- friendly, gracious and accomodating. Our grandchildren loved it there as much as we did. We can't wait to go back this year.

Wow. For a great treat find yourself breakfasting at Chanceford Hall following a First Friday in Snow Hill. The Von Marsh's are impeccable hosts and Shae infuses every moment with wit, grace, and delicious dishes (lemon and blueberry crepes, shrimp and grits, homemade yogurt with local honey). The guest rooms are spacious and quiet. While the riverfront park and town center are within easy walking distance, there is a gameroom for wintry days and outdoor TV and pool table for game nights. The hosts' pride in the 260+ years of Chanceford Hall hospitality will inspire any visitor! We had a charming time! Liz & Dave

I cannot say enough about how much I love Chanceford Hall! My husband and I had our wedding reception here and also stayed at Chanceford Hall for the weekend with our bridal party. The grounds are beautiful. The house is exquisitely furnished with period pieces to suit the presidential theme. The Proprietress, Lady Shae, is the ultimate hostess. The breakfasts and Charcuterie that she prepared for us were scrumptious! Not to mention the best coffee I think I have ever had! If you are visiting Snow Hill or planning a small, intimate wedding in the area, Chanceford Hall is Top Notch!

Our stay at Chanceford Hall was a special experience. The B&B is a true gem, on the National Historic register, and the home details show and are felt. Shae, the proprietor, was our hostess extraordinaire, the breakfasts were not to be believed (3+ courses of fresh homemade unique and substantial delicacies), and she and her family were enjoyable personalities...going on and on...just go (forgot to add Snow Hill is wonderful and so close to the beaches which we frequented every day).

After waking from a magnificent slumber in a bedchamber that was gorgeously decorated, every morning I ran down the steps like a child excited for Christmas. You never knew what Shae would serve for breakfast. The only thing you were 100% sure of is that whatever the course, it would be worth every bite. We even brought our 1 year old and 4 year old with us. Shae was so accommodating and made them alternative courses that they enjoyed! I would give this place a 12 out of 10 if I could.

We just returned from a 4-day stay at Chanceford Hall in Snow Hill Maryland . I can't remember when my wife and I enjoyed a little get-away more. We have never done a B&B before and we were a little anxious. Shae, the hostess, immediately made us feel welcome and we were put at ease immediately.Staying here was like going back in time. Chanceford Hall is a 262 year-old mansion with loads of history for history lovers. If walls could talk, I'm sure that we would be amazed at the history of this old home. Shae, however, has done her homework and told us what she has learned since she and husband Matt took over, which is a lot! Period furnishings and art (curated by Shae herself!) add to the charm of this magnificent home. The room we were assigned (one of four) was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We slept so well we didn't want to get up for breakfasts. Glad we did though, as Shae is quite the cook. Using fresh ingredients from local markets and her gardens, she concocted some of the tastiest things I have ever eaten. The first breakfast is served at 8:00, and if you choose to sleep in a little, the next one is at 9:00.If you are like us and just a little nervous about a bed and breakfast, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. After four days there, we felt very much at home.Oh, I didn't mention that you are only 1/2 hour from the beaches and the charming little town of Berlin, with shops and dining. If you like the outdoors then kayaking. boating, and fishing on the Pocomoke River are also nearby. I hear that there is a Renaissance Festival in the near future too but I am not sure of the dates. You may want to google. If that isn't enough, Snow Hill will be operating a riverboat starting in August. My wife and I are already planning to return one day soon. It was over-the-top cool!

My husband and I decided to stay here for our anniversary weekend. It was in the middle of Chincoteague and Assateague in a little town called Snow Hill. The home is stunning with amazing attention to detail. There's convenient parking on-site, and you walk into the side door of the home. The hosts were amazing. Doug was great with answering all my questions and emails before we went, and once there they both were incredibly hospitable and offered us some cool beer and lovely wine and cheese when we checked in. They were very friendly and talkative and knew so much about the area. The reservation process was very simple, we called them up and booked our room via the phone. Check in was easy and quick and our room was beautiful. We stayed in the Chadwick room which is on the 2nd floor. It has an in-room bathroom, which is something I prefer in a B&B. The bed was a beautiful 4 poster with soft comfortable sheets. Everything was incredibly clean and decorated so well. The common rooms were beautiful and comfortable and had books on historic architecture in the area. I loved how they had photos of some of the previous owners of the home and their families. You have to look for the signature scratched into the glass window! The patio was really adorable, I wish we had had more time to sit outside and have a drink.Doug made us a reservation at the Blue Dog Cafe which was really fun. They had live music and singing which we enjoyed. We spent most of our time at Chincoteague and Assateague, which are both about a 30 minute drive away from the house. Doug and Fran gave excellent directions and had maps available to give to us.The breakfast IS AMAZING. The best breakfast I have had at a B&B by FAR. Easily one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. Saturday morning was a simple breakfast as we had to leave really early for a kayaking reservation. Doug and Fran woke up early with us and were so accommodating! Even though breakfast is normally served later, they had some coffee and tea ready for us with wonderful goat cheese scrambled eggs and bacon. Sunday's breakfast was the breakfast of kings. We had a fruit cup, followed by Doug's father's Popovers recipe, which were these light and fluffy puffs in beautiful cups. That was then followed by a hashbrown crusted quiche, and ending with croissant french toast. We were stuffed and it was all delicious.HIGHLY recommend!!!

Charm, Comfort, Clean. Three understatements. Chanceford Hall, with its historical designation, is a beautifully restored 225 year old mansion with documented history that Doug and Fran happily discuss. The B&B is immaculate and the beds so comfortable that I did't want to get up for breakfast. Breakfast... Doug and Fran outdid themselves. The best quiche, popovers made from scratch, and one of Doug's pastry/apple pies (my description, not the name) that I have truly ever had. I could say much more, but I'll finish with "stay here" for a trully memorable experience with charming hosts.
