If you pay for a reservation, you are not guaranteed to get a car. Therefore, you then have no reservation. This seems like a scam. Also, if they have a car but it is a more expensive car than the one you reserved, you will be charged extra. No other car rental place I have ever been to does this. Any other business will upgrade you for free since the business has made the mistake. This Hertz will also change your reservation time without telling you. This place is a nightmare. Rent elsewhere.Side note, I gave this business two stars instead of one because James who works here was great and did his best to assist me. It’s not the employees here that are the problem. It’s the business model.

Personnel are so nice, really helpful, and just overall great. Rates are good and so is the selection. Will definitely rent from here again.

I rented a few weeks back.Positives: James was great and helpful.Negatives: they didn't have the car class I wanted (small), the Civic (which I admire greatly) was poor despite having medium mileage (50k). I used to have a Civic that has more miles but which I used to love. It as a surprise to see this car as a part of Hertz's fleet.

Loved the experience here. Expected a slow process and having to wait but the opposite was true. Paperwork done and in the car in less than five minutes. Return was jusas fast and easy. t

Should be shut down or staff swap out/more common sense training.Not all locations, but definitely the Laurel, MD one.Silver Spring, MD was very helpful & would recommend them. That’s why the rating is not a 1-star.

I've been trying to get a car for almost 3 weeks from multiple locations never have cars available even with a reservation.They say reservation doesn't guarantee a rental.What's the point of a reservation.And you can't just Walk in for Uber

DON’T RENT A CAR FROM HERTZ!!!This company is a joke, joke, joke….they don’t care about their customers. They are not well organized, they are their just for money as they are highly money oriented. As a gold plus member, I chose to rent a car from this company. I picked up the car on Saturday for a 2 day trip. At the end of the drive down to our destination we got a flat tire (the same day). We called hertz and they continued to put us a hold and ask the same constant questions over and over about the car information and tire information when they should’ve already had that info in their database. What are they good for then if they don’t have the basic information in front of them. We gave them the record number, which has all information about the account and the car we rented. But they constantly asked the same questions again and again instead of solving the simple issue. It took them 2 days to solve a simple and minor issue. The worst thing was the representative put us on hold and after 40 minutes of hold, they hung up the phone. Then, we had to call them back, and a different representative picked the call and did the same processes and again he/she hung up the phone again. We had the worst customer experience from the very beginning to the end. The company is there just to rob their customers money; they didn’t have a spare tire for the car; they don’t put the necessary equipments that an ordinary car should have. Please don’t spend your money here. They all are superficial; they act like they care about customers. We drove from the Hertz location to our destination on the same day, but after that, we had to pay for Lyft, which was another unnecessary expense. For a two hour tow, we ended up paying $800 plus the prior payment for the carand lyft, we ended up paying $1500. They didn’t even reach out to us to ask about our experience. We paid for the rental service that we didn’t even used. We didn’t drive the car after the tire got flat. We had to pay for Lyft wherever we want to go. They mad our trip trip a nightmare. They all are all a joke. Both the company and its employees are joke. They are robbers; they rob customers with no legit services provided.If you want to rent a car, please, this is not the right place.-0000000 star service.

We dealt with 3 different employees (David, the manager, Rikita (sp?) and another) and they were all so nice and friendly! We had requested a pick up truck to take the kids back to school but knowing it was going to rain, they offered a minivan at the same price. So helpful. Local businesses could learn a lot from their customer service.

Honestly the worst experience. The man who helped me was rude, told me I was only authorized for $46 a day and when I called geico he popped attitude. Truly, you should go literally anywhere else.

I was wary about renting here because of the reviews, but then when you look at any other car rental place, it's towards the top end - no one seems to be having a good time renting a car, especially in this market...That said, I just wrapped up my 3rd rental from this Hertz location (2 for pleasure, 1 for insurance when my car was in the shop) and they've all been great. It's not easy for the staff to balance the business phone and the clients in the building, but they managed well without long waits in my experience. That said, I specifically want to acknowledge James. He's been polite, efficient, and personable (and somehow the person I've dealt with each time).

Hello this place has the most unprofessional manager Rikita. She hung up on us like 5 times and was more worried about us knowing her position then about actually doing her job. She was very biased against us and she even called other hertz in the area so my friend couldn’t be rented to. She chases power but ignores customer service. I would not recommend this place and if have no choice talk to someone besides her if you want a good experience.

This location is just poorly ran, i've booked twice with this location one reservation was months in advance and for both reservations I did not leave with a car rental because there was a 2 hr+ waiting list. For some reason this location never seems to have cars or maybe they over book, the logistics are poor and it can disrupt your plans. I would advise the airport or another location. Save yourself the time.

I got into a fender bender in March while backing out of a parking space in a small outdoor parking lot. When I finally made the insurance claim in May to get my car repaired I was referred by Prestige Auto Body collision repair shop to the nearby Hertz Rent A car store a mere half a mile away. The initial customer service was excellent. I was provided with a nice Toyota Santa Fe. The interior was comfortable. The ride was smooth. The back up camera was great to have especially since my car got damaged backing out of a parking space. There was one big problem. The AC did not work. I got the car on a Monday and then called the Hertz to report it to them Wednesday morning. It was clear to me that they did not realize the car's AC needed a recharge, but it seems they should have thoroughly checked out the car when it was returned. Also, the employee I spoke to didn't offer to replace it. Then I mentioned it to Prestige when I checked in about my repair, they also contacted Hertz. That is when Hertz called me about the problem. I spoke to a different employee who offered to replace the car for me. I could not do it that day due to my work schedule but maybe I could Thursday. The thing is I would be turning the car back in on Friday! It felt like a whole lot of additional trouble to me, but I really appreciated their offer. When I returned the rental car on Friday evening and causally mentioned the AC problem to the woman who assisted me (in fact she had stepped in and took over my return paperwork) I did not get much verbal acknowledgement to my AC comment. However, when the car return was processed, and I was charged for it I saw on the payment statement that I had a discounted daily rate. I did appreciate the price adjustment very much as I had a $500 repair deductible to pay also. I left there feeling like they offer good service to their customers, but they really need to improve their rental car inspections and have all the employees on the same page when it comes to any problems & customer complaints. I expected some subpar service because of the reviews I’d seen here. I was wrong. I had no issues whatsoever even though I’d reserved using a third party app. I was in out with the reserved car in about 10 minutes.

I arrived to pick up my rental and was informed that there were no available cars (after having to spend money on a ride share out to this location). They said my car would be ready by 5pm and they would call me. After hearing nothing, I called back only to be placed on hold for a ridiculous period and then informed that my rental still wasn't ready. Please save yourself stress by choosing any other rental company.
