I have been very happy with the Brazilian Blowouts I have had in the past at Fabu. This time, however, Michele did my Brazilian Blowout and it did not look right from the moment she finished. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and figured I'd see how it looked after I washed and styled. I washed one time with a sulfate free shampoo, the same one I have used every other time I've had this treatment, and my hair still looked frizzy -- like I'd had no treatment at all. I called the salon, and they were immediately confrontational and blamed me because I did not buy the BB products (I did use the BB ionic bonding spray that I had at home), which I've never used in the past, and have previously had no issues. I caved and spent $50 on the shampoo and conditioner, which did not help at all. TL;DR: spent over $450 for a service that has worked great in the past, but did not work this time. Salon blamed me, offered nothing in return, and now I have to have frizzy hair for 8 weeks before i can get it fixed. At a different salon, obviously.

Got a Brazilian blowout by Michelle less than a week ago. Didn’t look nearly as good as usual when I left the salon, but gave her the benefit of the doubt and figured I’d see how it looked after I washed and styled. Still wasn’t happy with it 5 days later so
I called a politely stated that I wasn’t satisfied. I was immediately blamed because I did not purchase the Brazilian blowout shampoo and conditioner. I have had many Brazilian blowouts and have not used their shampoo and conditioner (my dermatologist prescribed a different sulfate-free brand), and have had great results. No apology from the stylist until I mentioned that she was blaming me and not being apologetic in the least, and then she begrudgingly apologized. The manager offered me 20% off of the Brazilian blowout products as a consolation, which amounts to me paying the salon extra money for products I can’t use. Once again, it’s not the shampoo and conditioner — I have never used those before and still had great results.
TL;DR: wasted over $400 for my hair to still be frizzy and was dismissed when I dared to tell the stylist I was displeased.

Highly, highly recommend McKenzie at Fabu for haircuts, highlights and lowlights...especially if you have naturally red hair. I absolutely love the dimension she created and the haircut. McKenzie not only cleaned up my hair, created a flattering shape, and took out weight without creating fly aways but she fixed another salon's highlights/lowlights after I let it grow out for a few months. McKenzie really knows what she is doing and does so very professionally. I felt she took care in processing the color and limited any dryness that occurs via highlights/lowlights. She does what you ask, is very attentive, and clarifies to make sure she understands exactly what you are trying to achieve. The whole experience was very pleasant. The appointments at Fabu tend to book out a few weeks to around 6 weeks but they have a waitlist for appointments that open up due to cancellations. Thank you McKenzie for an amazing hair style; I will definitely be returning. They also sell Davines' products, this is how I actually found the salon.

I can’t express how much I love this place. Jean has taken such good care of my curly hair for 9+ years (also Manita & Lisa!) - but it’s more than that. If you are looking for a salon please visit Fabu Salon. I followed my hair stylist Lisa here a few years ago. The Salon and staff are wonderful. Lisa is absolutely fantastic. I have been her customer for probably 20 years; She expertly knows how to do color and her styling skills are the best! My hair has always been fine ; there is not much body to it. Abour a year ago I had decided to try sewn in hair extensions. I consulted with Mackenzie and oh my goodness; I have been so happy! I have nothing but good things to say about Mackenzie and her work with extensions. If you have issues with your hair being thin/fine; or you just want to add some more body and length to it please see Mackenzie and discuss it with her. She can answer your questions and doesn't pressure you to do it one way or the other. She only wants to make her clients feel good about themselves.Services: Hairstyling

Very disheartened to have to leave this review after being a customer for several years, but unfortunately my experience today was awful and I will no longer be a customer. I arrived 5 minutes early before my 4:30pm appointment and was told they would let my stylist know I was here so I figured I would be seen by 4:40pm at the latest, however, I was wrong. After 15-20 minutes of waiting for my scheduled appointment, I was not even spoken too and completely ignored. No apology for the delay or explanation at all. Had someone approached me to inform me, things would be different but I am very disappointed and upset by the customer service I received today.Services: Haircut

Lisa is amazing, a true color genius! Months after getting my hair dyed red I still get stopped by strangers telling me how beautiful my color is. Best part about Fabu is all of the stylists are amazing though, even the receptionist are great. Highly recommend if you’re in the DMV area it’s worth driving to Severna Park for this gem!!!

I live in South Carolina and travel to Severna park to see family once every couple months. Lisa is always able to fit me in some how and when I tell you this woman is a color genius I mean it. She's given me more confidence with the absolute best red color of my life. I have more people stop me even months later to tell me how beautiful my color is. But the best part about Fabu is that every stylist there is literally like that too. They are crazy good at what they do.
