I visited the store to pick up crabmeat and a whole fish to stuff for dinner. The whole fish options were quite small and not large enough for a family of 4.Although the salmon was the size I needed they only offered filets. So I figured I would grab the crabmeat and go to another store nearby to get the fish. As I requested 2 containers of the crabmeat I was told that I could only take 1to the register with me due to theft. And after I purchased 2 containers either I or the salesclerk could come and retrieve the other canister. I was insulted. And was told that this is store policy. Well if you are afraid that the food is too expensive to purchase then you should not sell it or lower your prices. I will not return to Safeway since they are afraid I will steal food. I will spend my money where it and I are welcome and free you shop without being labeled a thief and with the food options that my family and I can enjoy!

First of all can you all please invest in some new shopping carts. They squeak too loud and the wheels always going the opposite way I’m pushing the cart. Plus at certain times of the days, all the shopping carts are gone.

What I like in safe way is they have this chicken already mix with spice and all i have to do is add some of my secret spices and perfect for the air fryers.

This Safeway customer service is usually good. Today was a change. I asked Tony Richards who work the meat dept if he could cut me some salmon. This rude man told me NO he only work the meat dept. When I asked for the meat guys name he spelled his name out for me. Unacceptable when I'm spending my money. I hope Mr. Richards realize I pay his salary. Without customers Safeway won't make money. This is why I'm giving 3 stars. The young lady that work seafood very professional. My checkout was pleasant. No more meat purchase from the Oxon Hill Safeway for me.

The customer service is terrible. You can train someone to do the job they are hire to do, but you can't train on how to respond to a customer in a professional, friendly way. If being a friendly individual is not in you, then friendliness will not come out of you. This particular Safeway has too many unfriendly, poor customer service workers. You can call and speak to the store manager, but those same unfriendly worker will still be there. Therefore shopping at this Safeway is a "NO" for me. If I have to drive a distance to receive friendlier service, then I will.

Today (Sunday, October 16, 2022) was my first time visiting this Safeway. I asked for help finding a particular item. The first employee didn't know if Safeway carried the item, but she didn't send me on a wild goose chase. She quickly asked another employee if he knew if Safeway carried this item, and he walked with me and pointed it out. Much appreciated.The store was clean, organized and everyone was friendly.Thank you.

I gave 2 stars because I love the Safeway in Hillandale Maryland, therefore, I will not punish all Safeways. It wasn't the staff because they are nice and friendly. The store just didn't have a variety of produce and productts, sorry, but they all should follow the Hillandale Safeway, very friendly staff, stocked with a variety of healthy options.

I go here almost every day but last time I shopped here I picked up not 1 but 3 spoiled items 1 of witch were salmon from seafood the crazy part was that the date stated that it had been packaged the same day so that means that they purposely pack spoiled salmon it smelled like warm trash crazy ???

A few ground turkey packs was rotten. Other meats were fine. Aside from that the store was pretty good.

Loved shopping at this store. I'm gonna give up Giant Largo. It's spacious, clean and organized nicely. Safeway on Alabama is very nice also, just too far.

I just had the BEST customer “CARE” service from a Safeway deli. I have shopped MANY of Safeways in the DMV area and the customer care and service I received from the deli at Oxon Hill was beyond five star. A large part had to do with Charmaine Wellington. Charmaine is VERY attentive to the customers and makes sure we receive the highest of quality service and food. Safeway should be HONORED to have such an employee like Charmaine on their team. I’m not sure if she’s a supervisor or in a managerial role for the deli but she needs to be!As she took customer orders she communicated with the other employees politely and with great direction to assure the customer orders were correct and delivered in a timely manner.THANK YOU CHARMAINE for the freshly made food and the BEST customer service I’ve ever received at a Safeway deli! KUDOS to you!Safeway Charmaine deserves employee recognition and a bonus!

Everything thing I'd needed was there, plus if you have the app and the U personalized just for you works wonder. I've got a dozen of white eggs large for $2.06 regular time price $3.79 eggs ain't cheap no more. This was at the Oxon Hill Maryland location Rivertown location. Store was clean, plenty of carts and friendly staff.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Good selection and everything seemed fresh. My old safeway card from Canada worked here so i was able to get the members discounts automatically
