I have called several times and I was told that I would hear back from the district manager and as of yet there has been no response concerning my unit and I have been a long-term tenant since 2018 going into 2019. And I have never been late. It's been going on over a month. Update the DM finally adjusted my rental rate. Thanks very much for your help.

After weeks (since June) of calling and calling regarding bill. I would call morning, midday, afternoon and no one answer the office phone. No form of respect to give a call back and give b.s excuses. Please do not use them. Look somewhere else. Still haven’t had a call back btw. Manager “Jeff” never got back to me and giving false information about having give 7-10 days notice before giving in unit. When told and asked five sales people that is no contract and is 3 days notice.

I have had my unit since the end of 2018-till now. Several times I have tried to contact them about my rental increase. I miss Mr. Scott who was very efficient. I am a long-term customer, and I am trying to figure out why is it taking them so to contact me? I have called 3 times with no response whatsoever.

ONLY reasons I’m giving 1 star is bcuz I have no choice & for Felicia Brown professionalism customer service. Other than that PLEASE DO NOT RENT HERE!!!! This place is FILLED WITH RATS/MICE that will eat on EVERY belonging u have, from shoes, to coats, cords to ur electronics, microwave etc.. I rented here with OVER $30,000 worth of things & left with “maybe” $400 worth due to my property being ate up by RODENTS!!!! I never cried so bad in my life, I literally have to start ALL OVER AGAIN with purchasing me & my child belongings that were destroyed bcuz of this place…. So AGAIN if u cherish ur belongings & want them kept in good condition DO NOT RENT HERE!!!! I promise u will regret it if u do!!!

DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT STORE YOUR BELONGINGS HERE UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR UNIT INFESTED BY MICE. I Used this location because it was convenient and a good rate, well cheap isn't always the best. I finally moved into my new house and I went to my unit to start moving out. I went with my new "friend" so he could carry the heavy stuff. When I opened the door I was in complete shock, mice were running and hiding in all of the crevasses of the unit. It was so many I couldn't even count. I was so embarrassed. I had to pay someone (suggested by management) to clear out the unit. All of the coats that I owned were damaged, my computer screen was scratched, clothes with tags on them had droppings all over them nothing in the unit was salvageable. There was well over 3k worth of damage. I filed a claim, took pictures and got prices on all of my belongings. When everything was done I was awarded $500 which they took $100 for a deductible which is crazy.

I have been a customer at this location for 2.5 years such a relief to be finished with my storage rental here. Horrible customer service and you never know when you'll have access to your unit during operating hours. This location always has some sort of maintenance issue and whenever issues arise they take months to fix the problem i.e. the entry doors to access 2nd and 3rd floor units. There is only one way in and out to access your unit so if the doors aren't operational then it's almost impossible to get large items out of the building to your car. My unit price increased by over $150.00 since my rental began. Also be aware of mice, carefully store your belongings here.

Absolutely horrible the most unprofessional and rudest individuals i have ever met not only at the the southern ave facility but monica or monique at the customer service center. The management at southern ave is absolutely ridiculous the outside door to the facility has been broken for over 5 months and has still yet to be fix. How am to feel if i dont feel like my belongings are safe. These are suppose to be sliding doors. Nit to mention the piles of trash around and inside the facility

They will lock your unit the day your credit card number changes, but it’s been over a week since Ive paid and my until is not u locked. Ohhh, they also don’t answer the phone, so you kind of just have to come by and see if they have unlocked your unit. So…you know, one start for not allowing me to access my stuff.

I am a customer at the Oxon Hill, MD location. I called the location today because there are never any carts available when I bring large items to place in my storage unit. Prior to this location being taken over by Self Storage Plus, Extra Space Storage made sure that there were always carts at the entrances of each inside storage building. I spoke with Felicia Brown today to inquire if there will be a cart available because I’m bringing a large item. She indicated that customers take the carts and place them inside their storage units. Felicia then rudely quoted my lease indicating that Self Storage Plus is responsible for only providing me with a storage unit and not the use of a cart. Felicia was rude because she wasn’t happy that I suggested that more carts should be provided if customers are hiding the carts in their storage units. Felicia expected me to accept this scripted excuse with no rebuttal regarding a proper solution. But I’m a longtime customer and there has to be a solution.Prior to Self Storage Plus taking over at this location, Extra Space Storage ALWAYS made sure that there was a cart at the entrance of each inside storage building. If customers are hiding the carts in their storage units, then why not provide us with more carts? It’s just that simple and easy. Every time I inquire, I get the same scripted excuse as if this is what the employees are directed to tell customers to shut us up.I then proceeded to call the Alexandria VA location to inquire about the lack of carts and the lack of proper customer service at the Oxon Hill MD location. The manager was VERY pleasant and professional. She indicated that Self Storage Plus prides themselves on excellent customer service and that Felicia’s responses to me were inappropriate. She also indicated that the Oxon Hill MD location should reach out to the District Manager for more carts if customers are hiding or taking the carts.District Manager, can you please provide more carts at the Oxon Hill, MD location? My storage unit fee has risen significantly since this new company took over. I pay my storage unit fee on time. I’m sure customers were hiding carts in their units prior to Self Storage Plus taking over, but somehow, Extra Space Storage seemed to make sure that there were carts readily available and at the entrance of every inside storage building. Self Storage Plus have to do better in our urban areas. District Managers should teach their employees how to control the impulse to be rude and unprofessional when speaking to customers. We need more carts and better customer service. We do not need scripted excuses rudely recited at us.

I rented an outdoor access storage space for 6 months. The prices are fair, the location is secure , and the customer service is excellent. Felecia is so helpful. Those are the good things. However, strongly consider getting an indoor unit. In six months the floor of my unit was literally covered in rat poop- and unfortunately a lot of my stuff had rat p*** on it. Tons of Lysol wipes needed -- and not a fun time it wasn't mice p*** -- I know my p*** !!
