Great staff and therapists. I’ve been having trouble with my membership because I had started at another location and did not know, everything wasn’t tied together. The staff has truly done what they could to help and been understanding. The manager called me back only a few hours after I spoke with someone and is a sweetheart. My therapist is amazing. He is extremely knowledgeable and helped me so much. Definitely recommend this location.

Hand and Stone was the best past of my birthday festivities. I was given a 60-minute message. I liked the massurer because he made sure I was comfortable with his methods. I will return one day.

Disappointing! My appointment was delayed 15 minutes because the customer before me opted for an extra treatment. Then my facial lasted under 40 minutes. It was very busy and I got the feeling I was being rushed out.

I had my first facial there with Darlene and it was magical. She was professional, kind, and explained what was going to be done. I came out of there relaxed and feeling brand new. I’ll definitely be going back soon.

Just had a facial with Darlene at the olney store. It was fantastic! She applies just enough pressure with therapeutic steam and heated massage table. Throughout the treatment she will let you know what products she's putting on as she transitions to the next. Each room has piped in music, low lighting and privacy robes. The residents of olney are very fortunate to have such a nice place to go that is reasonably priced

I'am a 75 yr old man that has getting facials more than 15 years. Recently I was seen by Darlene who was very impressive. Her throughness and attention to detail was excellent. I was made to feel comfortable while she explained every step in the process. Will definitely be a return customer.Reynauld Smith

Had a fantastic first time facial with Darlene this week: she was thorough, attentive & gentle; appreciated her care in treatment & what my goals are for my skin care. Good sense of humor I look forward to my next facial with her

I love this location. The front deck staff is always pleasant and serving good vibes. Darlene’s facials are a must experience. She worked her magic on my melanated skin!

I was invited to the Hand Stone Massage center by one of the FB ads promoting a discount but it turn out to be a disappointment. I end up paying higher fee for a treatment, and their advertising is not promoting as it is. The cost of memberships is very expensive in comparison with other spa centers. Definitely recommend spa centers in Rockville or a Bethesda for a more cost effective spa treatment.

Overall, I had a great experience at Hand & Stone. This was my first time going to Hand & Stone and I got the 1-hour Introductory Clarity Facial. I was greeting with the front desk associates, who were very warm and welcoming during my check-in process. I waited for a couple minutes before I was greeted with Lenny, the esthetician who would be doing my facial. She brought me back, discussed my concerns, analyzed my skin, and gave a great facial. She has great hands and made my skin feel clean, soft, and hydrated! After the facial was done, I headed to check-out where the front desk informed me that I would be charged $79.95 (which is the fee for first-time customers). This is the price I was expecting since they informed me of it over the phone when I booked the facial. At check-out, they also mentioned that they were doing some type of discount this month and that would reduce the price to $69.95 and that's how much they would be charging me (which was awesome!). To preface, I used a gift card I had to pay for the facial and I did not know how much was originally on the gift card (since it was a gift). The front desk informed me that the gift card would cover the cost of my facial today and that it also had 5 cents remaining and that they could toss the card for me. They also didn't give me a receipt. After leaving, I was told by the person who gave me the gift card that the gift card had $100 on it. I decided to call Hand & Stone and ask where the $30 went and why I only had 5 cents remaining when they said they were only charging me $69.95. On the phone, the associate stated that I had 2 different add-on's during the facial which costed a total of $30, bringing the grand total to $99.95 (hence the remaining 5 cents). I told the associate that no one had informed me about getting any add-on's to my facial, and she basically said "oh, they didn't tell you? well yea you got two add-on's and that's why it costed extra." The reason for the 3 stars is that I never asked for any add-on's throughout the entire visit, nor was I informed that I would be receiving any add-on's, and then they again failed to mention the actual total cost of my treatment at check-out. I'm not entirely sure who is at fault here, the esthetician who completed the add-on's (without informing me they were add-on's with additional costs and not included in the facial), or the front desk associates that only told me it was $69.95 and failed to inform me of the total cost of the facial while checking out. Finally, I would not return to Hand & Stone in the future simply because I don't trust that they wouldn't charge me extra fees without telling me. I wish they had been upfront and honest, and told me that they would be giving me add-on's and had provided me some kind of receipt, instead of misinforming me of the treatment and cost. However, I will say my visit otherwise was great and if you do want to visit Hand & Stone (I would recommend Lenny for facials!) but are worried about extra charges, I would highly recommend making it very clear to everyone that you don't want any add-on's throughout the entire process and to have them inform you of what will be done at every step and whether or not there will be an extra cost to whatever they're about to do (but I'm not sure how relaxing of a visit that would be).

Tom is wonderful! I had a deep tissue massage, and it has made me feel so much better. I am trying David in a couple weeks. Worth it.

This location was great. Katie, the front desk lead was incredibly kind and helpful. I wish all customer service embodied her warmth and friendliness. My only reason for 4 stars is because there’s always just too much talking during the service. As a busy mom of young babies, I prefer quiet during the rare moments I take to treat myself. Aside from that I highly recommend Hand & Stone, specifically the Olney location. Now for the Gaithersburg location, that’s another story for another day…..

I purchased a package deal at ChristmasI was told it was a 3 massage package for $ 279.90Then there was a PROMO of one separate gift card for a massage or facial. When I actually tried to use the card for the 3 massages, I was told the 279.90 was only for 2 massages, then there was an upcharge of $ 20.20 because I chose "deep tissue"So, the gift card package was a lie, and the manager would not honor the purchase as it was stated. She told me I was confused and I purchased a black friday deal that was basically more that I would have paid had I just purchased a massage one at a time.Completely dishonest.

I have gone to Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa several times because of receiving "gift cards". I had enjoyed a massage from Helen and think she did a great job. HOWEVER, when I made a subsequent appointment, I was charged $129.00 for an hour long massage and $20.00 for the few drops they used of their eucalyptus oil. Before making my appointment, I checked the price on their website. On their home page, the price of a massage is listed at $79.00. When I complained about the FIFTY dollar increase that they charged me, they said the $79.00 was an "introductory" price. I came to find out that their introductory prices are for MEMBERS. They want you to become a member which locks you into this spa and you have to PREPAY for a package of services. Not everyone can afford such a luxury. You need to hunt around on their website for the ACTUAL prices. They fail to consider not everyone has access to a computer. For instance, my 90 year old mother wants to make an appointment and she certainly does not know how to use a computer. So, it is easier to call and make an appointment. IF Hand and Stone was an "ethical" organization, their home page would show member and non-member prices for all of their services. When I said this was deceptive advertising, they said "Take it up with corporate". Does that sound like good customer service to you? I would not trust this establishment. I cannot attest to the competency of their staff. But, I can share that their front desk staff is rude and not concerned with the satisfaction of their customers. For instance, management said their is a brochure that shows both member and non-member prices. No one gave me a brochure. Do yourself a favor - find another place for your massage and/or facial. AND, ask about the price BEFORE making your appointment. Hard lesson learned!
