“I contacted Machin after working with another millworker for 75% of my kitchen and that millworker could not finish the rest of my project. In my opinion, it's difficult getting someone to start in the middle when they didn't have it from the beginning. To me, that was difficult- trying to match what someone else already started, their ideas, their techniques, their cuts, their paint and stain. I called Machin (Stuart) and explained my situation, who told me he could come that day to look at my existing kitchen- to which he did. He took a good look around, snapped some photos, and told me he'd get me an estimate the following week after his vacation.Stuart deserves this review. I took a chance on this guy! He had ONE review and I was nervous, but I came here to fill in the blanks for everyone else. He beyond surprised us- he absolutely IMPRESSED US. First, my previous millworker called me daily, wanting me to come by and check the project, make sure everything was being done right. While these calls were done with good intention, it was cumbersome and difficult to drop everything and get over to that shop daily. With Stuart, I mean, he never called me to have me check on anything. It was the complete opposite: very carefree and just forced me to put my trust in him. I called him at some point because I thought, "Ok, I hope he is getting this right???!" and asked him if I could swing by to check the material and he said sure. I did and all was identical to what I already had installed - great news! About a week later, Stuart called asking one question about the kitchen, I answered, and I offered him to come by again to really get it painted in his memory- he said, "No, don't need to, I got it." I mean, really, he only came by once?!!?The day of the install, I was so nervous. I went to the truck where the cabinets were because I thought, for sure something had to have been off in replicating what I already had installed.I was blown away. He absolutely matched my cabinets in their construction, in their 2.5" shaker widths (not standard), their stain, their wood grain (oak), etc.- the details were matched to the T! I had a handle-less design on the upper wall cabinets and he made it identical! To much to list. AND HE ONLY CAME BY MY HOUSE ONCE. Once we installed, we noticed that the upper cabinets needed one more coat of paint to match exactly, so Stuart had his guys remove some panels, repainted them, and installed the following day. Unreal!!!! One thing I noticed very recently, is that the millworker from the other 75% of my kitchen, while beautiful, my drawers bump into each other when I pull them out together. With Machin's, they don't bump at all. While they both utilized the same material, I have a feeling someone knows how to install undermount soft close drawer slides much better than the other. Quality uncompromised. Thank you.While Stuart does not know, but by trade, I am a designer- I'm incredibly picky, a perfectionist, and I know what I want. Thank you, Stuart, you beyond deserved this review, without hesitation you have my recommendation on any custom millwork job.”
