Food is always great and I love the atmosphere - very much a family favorite at my house.

A hidden gem. A restaurant with a nice character.Slightly limited menu, but everything seemed to be made in house.Portion size is quite generous.Very attentive and knowledgeable staff. Most Maryland Onion Rings I've ever seen!

Our waiter (tattoo guy) was amazing. The food was really good as well. Like always, I turn into a big kid in the novelty store in back. Gotta love the inappropriate socks! ???
This Maryland self-styled roadhouse is actually a full-scale family restaurant located in a former hardware store in a building that is a historic site. While the menu includes the full range of American favorites from chicken potpie, dry spice-rubbed ribs and giant burgers, it also tacks on some inventive dishes: coconut curried vegetables, bacon-wrapped meatloaf, and Cajun mac ?n' cheese. We like the pulled pork platter, which includes a mountain of slow-cooked pork butt paired with your choice of sides --- go for the mashed potatoes. For fans of house-brewed beer, Franklin's has its own beer master on the premises and a range of funky brews on tap, such as Rubber Chicken Red and Bombshell Blonde. The adjoining general store, which is really a glorified magic tricks-toy shop, will keep you fully occupied long after your name is called for seating.
