Such a vibe, get the fried chicken. They put pickles on the buffalo chicken salad. Was upset until I found out the were jalapeño flavored pickle.

We dined at the inn for our anniversary, didn'tstay overnight at the inn. I ordered the chicken on stuffing and it was delicious. We ordered appetizers and the meals came out right after the appetizers were served, not allowing us time to eat our appetizers. Other than that it was good. Note: the menu in the pictures section of the Google page online is old and the prices are inaccurate.

My wife called to book a stay for us at this Historic INN while on our way to Washington DC for business. We were both excited to check out the old world architecture and feels that we hoped this gem had to offer.
Initially we were told all they had left was a room with two double beds, to which I quickly declined. There is no harm in enjoying a larger bed, we simply told the hostess "no thanks, we prefer a larger bed and will go to a hotel in another town".
Immediately the hostess changed her tune, saying oh look we do have a king room available (for the same price). My wife and I both agreed and told the representative about our excitement looking forward to the stay.
On the night of our booking we arrived in a driving rain, packed the luggage inside and was welcomed by the night attendant. She said that she was expecting us but then quickly said "you're across the street", while looking down at our luggage.
I said what? What do you mean across the steet?
She said oh over at the motel.
I said you're not serious!?
She said "oh yes here it is", while looking at the computer screen, "yah you're across the street".
I said that is not what I booked at all and I dont appreciate being thrown into a motel when I booked a room at this Historic INN.
She didnt seem to care, finished the booking and offered me a pen. ?
It was already creeping on 11pm. We were tired, wet, and not about to drag our luggage to the next town.
Side note: we drove 20 miles out of our way to stay at a historic INN only to end up in a flea bag motel.
Rooms: Flea bag motel, classic bait and switch by greedy profit driven people and organizations.
Food & drinks: I wasn't welcome at the INN, and no food or drink was available at the flea bag motel, save 3 Kcups of coffee.
Noteworthy details: Lies, Lies, Lies and I payed for them.

I am not the type to leave a review. In fact, this might be my first time. I'm giving 3 stars because they got a lot right. Bathrooms were clean. Service was good. They had some nice baked goods and jarred goods for sale. The atmosphere in the dining room was good. The bread and apple butter were good. And my wife enjoyed her meal. But let me tell you, I am not a picky eater, I can for sure enjoy a mediocre meal, but I ordered the special and it was G.R.O.S.S. Baked chicken, asparagus, and party potatoes. I couldn't tell if the asparagus was asparagus or canned green beans. It was just mush. The potatoes had a thick layer of congealed cheese on top and they were stone cold. The chicken was dry as the saharah. It tasted like it was cooked three weeks ago. So I asked for a fresh plate and the waitress popped out two minutes later with another similarly disappointing plate and said they pre-plated the special. I'm certainly not trying to be malicious but I do think it would benefit management to know that their special isn't so special. However with the other positive notes I'd encourage anyone to go and judge for yourself.

We had steak and the best salad. Kids loved the toys in the family room. They hung out there while we finished desert. The honey bees are worth the trip. Live honey bees in the gift shop making honey. We didn't stay all night just the afternoon.Nearby activities: Great park for kids or just hanging out a couple blocks away. Across the street is a converted school house into shops. Material, sewing store, thrift shop and more. Sidewalks for walking. Amish farmers market, flea market in the summer in nearby springs, PA.

Casselman's Inn Lovely name for this historic Mennonite style restaurant. Met family for lunch and nearly everything on menu is recommended. Excellent business model has insured that this business survived covid and continues to thrive. Neat historic dinning - did miss fire in fireplace. Finding and training eager employees is no problem in the western Maryland Mountains. Great service, kitchen, and comfort ambience. Our lunch covered the menu - cod, omelets, Reuben, and turkey dinner. Make no mistake, this is real turkey pulled from the bird. Comfort dining at its best.
