While Mei’s prices were reasonable, my wedding dress alterations were horrible. The style of the bust was completely changed and not in a positive way. Everything I loved about the bust was removed and the ruching was altered so it no longer sat how it was supposed to. Mei claimed she did not cut any fabric, however when I brought the dress to another seamstress, she said all of the fabric on the inside of the bust had been cut. Luckily another seamstress was able to save my dress, but I would not recommend Mei for wedding dress alterations if it’s anything mildly complicated or tulle.

I always go to Meis for alterations! I order a lot of things used from The Real Real and she always tailors them to fit perfectly in short order. I’ve actually taken her dresses that the alterations people at Nordstrom tried to tell me could not be altered to fit how I wanted —and she fixed with no issue at all much more reasonable price.
Always call first before going by in case someone is there for a bridal appt since they are a small shop. I most recently took my “reception” dress from my elopement with less than a week to go and she made it happen for me at a super reasonable price. So many compliments! Thank you guys!

i got one if the beautiful red dresses here and it fits perfectly! i am so happy with it and excited to wear it to a wedding as a guest. Mei's is also helping me with tailoring the bottom to fit with my heels.

Mei had reasonable price for alterations. It was twice less price as compared to David's bridal for hem alteration and adding bustle to the dress. She did work in few days and did a good quality job. I was very happy with results. Will definitely recommend her.

When my brother got married a decade ago, I bought my Chinese gown from Mei's Bridal & Alteration in Kentlands. Prior to stopping by the bridal boutique, I called to schedule an appointment. This store carries prom dresses, wedding dresses, Chinese gowns, and hair accessories. They have a $300 wedding gown sample sale and $50 prom dresses. When I arrived, Mei allowed me to browse the selection. She was friendly and helpful in recommending Chinese gowns that would fit my body type. I was happy to find a Chinese gown for my rehearsal dinner in June! I plan to return in a couple of months for alterations.

Mei was great for the whole process! She was able to alter my wedding dress in under a month and for a very reasonable price! She did a great job with the bustle and hem. I highly recommend going there for your wedding dress alterations!

My husband and I wanted to incorporate our heritage into our wedding. I was looking for a qi pao (Chinese red wedding dress) to try on in person, but we couldn't find any places to do this in the DMV area until we came across Mei's Bridal and Alteration! Mei was very kind and let me try on a number of red dresses (I found around 5 that I liked). While I wasn't able to take pictures in the red dresses, I FaceTimed my family to help me decide which dress to get. My qi pao fit great for the wedding! I highly recommend Mei's Bridal and Alteration :)

I was looking for a qipao for my tea ceremony and didn't have much luck with the stores in Chinatown, NYC. Compared to those stores, Mei's was a much warmer experience and she was patient and flexible. She had a variety of samples I could try on and I was able to make customizations to the collar, sleeves and buttons! Since I came before new years, she was able to get me my dream dress straight from Hong Kong with all my changes without additional shipping charges! She also did not charge for altering the dress. Her prices for altering other dresses are much lower than other shops I've seen and once I have my wedding dress picked out I will come back to see her again!

Mei is Cantonese speaking. As a customer from Hong Kong, having a Cantoneae speaking tailor is just a more heart warming feeling. Mei is probably the tailor in the DMV area that offers great services with the most affordable pricing. Highly recommended!
