Everybody here has always been very kind to me. They are super friendly.
More importantly, my dog, Peaches, has a great ongoing treatment plan. She had an eye condition that was unlikely to get better.
That being said, her eye condition has just about completely reversed and is looking way better.

Amazing experience! Called the morning of, and they luckily had a cancellation. Took my cat in for an ongoing eye issue. They were prompt, kind, and attentive. My cat is not always the best behaved at the vet, and he was so chill and comfortable. The Doctor humored my stories about my cat, and I felt confident about the diagnosis and treatment.

I cannot say enough great things about the team here. I brought my older golden retriever in after he had some swelling in his eye, and was extremely scared and stressed out about what was going on. Dr. McInnis made me feel so much better, thoroughly explained everything and took so much stress off of me in my initial visit. Her entire team made me feel welcomed and comfortable at every visit, and I knew that my dog was in the best place he could be with their team. They loved him and treated him like he was one of their own.
We ultimately decided on surgery and despite me being an emotional mess the morning of, I felt very calm and reassured that he was in the best hands. I received multiple updates and the whole team did an amazing job walking me through post-op care. If your pet is having eye issues, I cannot recommend this team enough. Thank you again for helping take such good care of my boy.

Not only is she a skilled healer, but she is also an incredibly kind and compassionate person. A very rare combination. Thank you Dr. McInnis!

I believe this clinic is knowledgeable and does care for their patients. I hope this review can be taken as constructive criticism and is not meant to demean anyone. Part of owning a business is understanding where your weak points are. This clinic should consider referring pets to different places who are more comfortable handling difficult patients. Many pets even friendly outside of an office are going to feel different with a stranger manipulating them.My dog is a retired apprehension dog. He is friendly but is not comfortable with physical restraint. The tech was petting on him while we waited. He is fully muzzle trained and had never lashed out prior to this visit. He was required to wear 2 muzzles. One fabric that was so tight it was pinching his lips, and then his regular muzzle. There would be no way for a bite and I could hold his head if they would’ve let me. A stressful situation was made way worse by fear even before he started showing any aggression. He never left a sitting position and he jerked his head one time at the vet because they wouldn’t let me be in front holding him. They would not do the exam and suggested oral sedation. I suggested a light sedation such as twilight sleep so that they could feel totally comfortable. Mind you he’s never needed that for any exam outside of X-rays. I was sent an outrageous quote for that. After a recommendation from an Officer I ended up taking him to the animal clinic in Gaithersburg and even with oral sedation He was definitely more drowsy, but still growling, and Dr. Smith handled him and didn’t even flinch. So, even if I would’ve taken the recommendations of sedating him with medication prior to another visit with the Columbia clinic, I can guarantee you she still would not have done the exam. It would’ve been Another waste of time.I totally understand and respect safety protocols. But you should also understand and respect patients and their time. You should also understand that you are going to get animals who even if friendly outside of the office they could be uncomfortable with the visit. If it is this much of an issue, please consider referring patients out to other people who are more comfortable.

Highly recommend if you need an ophthalmologist for your pet. Dr. McInnis is amazing and the front desk staff was very welcoming. Overall, the office is in a great location, plenty of free parking, and it’s handicap accessible. They were quick but didn’t rush the appointment. Also, they took great care of Bella today.I believe they offer dental services in the same facility as well.

6/7/2023Me and my mother drove our beloved charlie from springfield VA to this place every few weeks for his follow up appointments and his cataract surgery. We felt this place is a corporate scam. They make you believe they will help your pet and care for your pet then charge you eye popping prices every visit without going through details of what was charged exactly. Dr. Weight made us believe that our charlie would be able to see after cararact surgery. We were also given a paper that was denied by the doctor later after given that said our charlie would be getting antibiotics prior to surgery. He did not get those antibiotics. He couldnt see after surgery and we were told that he still had hazy vision and it would get better. It did not. He also caught an infection right after the surgery. Apparently infections are common with this surgery and he wasnt given the antibiotics to prevent that. Me and my mother would spend nights with him for weeks during the recovery. It messed with my sleep and job. I took a lot of time off to bring my pup to the required appointments for him to get better. After much time, gas, and money spent in the months afterwards Dr weight said he wouldnt be able to see and to get a baby gate. What a slap in the face after being told he had a high chance of seeing after surgery. The whole point of putting our senior pup thru this was for him to have comfort, safety ( he was falling down the stairs), and independence and peace of mind for us. We then went to a vet opthomologist closer to us in VA. This vet was absolutely caring, didnt charge a senseless and non detailed hundreds per visit but instead focused on charlies health and his well being. She also said that Dr. Weight didnt take the necessary procedures before performing the surgery. There needed further testing to be done and she said that she couldnt detect the retina detachment that dr. Weight did. His eye wasnt clear enough for her to see. Please don't fall for this overpriced and eye gouging clinic. There are doctors that aren't greedy and just in it for the money who actually know what they are doing and they have your pet's well being first in mind. Our pets are our family members and they should be treated as such. I just wish I could get my money and time back but I learned all this too late.

appointment was on time;staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful; Dr. McInnis was informed, thorough and personable. My one-eyed bunny has ongoing issues with his remaining eye, and since his regular expert vet retired, I was glad to have another expert who will help me. We have another appointment in 2 months.

My Buster has been a patient of Dr. McGinnis for about 8 years. She is without a doubt one the of the most professional, personal, and compassionate people I have had the pleasure of meeting and doing business with. I highly recommend Dr. McGinnis and her staff. Thanks for all you do! ?

I’m not one for leaving negative reviews, but our recent experience has left us frustrated. We live almost an hour away and our veterinarian referred us to get our cat’s eye checked after reoccurring issues. I’ll admit and share up front that our cat is not an easy patient, known to be difficult. For this reason she is given medication to make her drowsy. On the first visit meds were given but we were sent home told they could not handle her. We rescheduled and followed their advice to give more meds the night before and a couple hours ahead. We followed the instructions, made the hour drive again, and again they could not handle our cat. We don’t understand how a business that specializes in something like this doesn’t know how to handle a difficult pet? They told us they couldn’t sedate her because they couldn’t get her out of the carrier to examine her first. This made no sense and the carrier can be taken apart so the whole top lifts off easily. We were given no options and it honestly feels like they are simply not interested in helping our pet. Worst vet experience ever, by far.
