“This hole-in-the-wall market is nearby and carries most things. The cashier (store owner?) is always so nice and helpful. Last time I was here, I grabbed a single corndog, a mini bottle of wine, and a bag of chips. Totaled about $11. Love this place. Oh, and if you’re into beer and wine, this place has plenty of it!”

The brothers and staff are always friendly, helpful, and courteous. They greet me by name, remember my preferences, and offer me discounts and freebies. “I was just walking past Union Kitchen, thought I stop in. It was a cute quaint, grocery store/café. I ordered a chickpea chorizo fiesta hash. It wasn't my favorite, but I was trying something new. “This is my neighborhood store. When I need coffee, sandwich, something quick on the way home from work this is where I go. Their coffee is solid (better than the place around the corner for sure), prepared food is very tasty and there are about 3 sandwiches that are so good I can't seem to buy a different one! But what stands out the most are the people. They know my name and I know theirs. They are good honest people and hard workers who take the time to make you feel welcomed. In a world that seems to be becoming more and more abstract and divorced from simple human to human relationships it's as much a beacon of home that a corner store can be. Over the top review- yes but they've been my place for years so they earned it in my mind.”

“I am just reviewing the food. It was really nice. The servers don't really speak English but I was able to point and gesticulate what I thought looked nice. The shrimp in the creamy soup was delicious and so was the rice and plantains. I went back twice. It was 16.25 for a very large serve of food. I had some leftover for dinner. If you're looking for great takeout, come here.”

They carry a nice selection of high quality dry goods, wine, frozen foods, and some basic staples like milk and eggs.They have a deli counter in back now, where they are slinging lights out sandwiches, salads, and a burrata bowl.The folks who run it also run Dent Place Market in West Village Georgetown, and are so nice. They are focusing on the best quality local products, and go out of their way to spotlight local producers.”

“I was looking for some fashion and coffee table-type magazines in foreign languages for a work-related event, and wasn’t able to find them anywhere, until someone recommended I check out The Newsroom on Connecticut Ave NW in DuPont Circle. It was great! I bought 3 Vogues (French, German, and Italian), a People magazine (Spanish), and a few other fashion magazines. These will be great for our office’s fun activities related to learning/studying foreign languages. The owners were super helpful and friendly. Highly recommend!”

“Love foxtrot!! Have tried several coffee shops in old town and foxtrot always comes out on top - great cappuccinos, lattes and matcha. Ordering drinks ahead on the app is super convenient and if you make an account, you get 1 free drink a month.The staff is very friendly and welcoming, there is lots of seating upstairs, and they have a well curated selection of snacks and misc food items.”
