Worst experience at this store and online and with the customer service 800 number.
Ordered an item online for pickup in store. Before I drove out to pick up, I called the store to make sure they had it in stock because it was sold out in other stores. The woman who answered assured me it was there and not to worry. I wasted time coming from Virginia to get it and waiting 30 minutes while they looked for it. They never put it aside when I called. They were out of stock.
She told me she would contact me that weekend. She also asked me to send an email to her and the manager to document what happened. She was going to give me something for my troubles. Although she only offered after I asked for something for my troubles.
Then crickets. I sent 2 emails a week apart and she AND her manager never responded. I called the 800 number and they said they wouldn’t do anything and not even call the store. I called the store and the manager said she could give me 10%. I asked her if $5 for $50 was a fair amount for 2 hours of my time. She said she wouldn’t ‘dignify’ herself in answering that basic question. Okay, thanks for nothing. Never shopping at WS anywhere again. Worst customer service.

the worst customer service! I went to buy a gift. First they told me they have no appropriate box for that. after something was the display example they couldn’t sell this to me. Finally when I chose something else, it appeared that they have an appropriate (big enough) box for the purchase, and they were wrapping it 15 minutes.

I love William Sonoma products and store. However, I had most awful experience when I just decided to order an out of stock item. The bad experience last for 3 months with most awful customer service on the planet! I just learned a lesson that I MUST NOT ever again and just buy from the store on spot making sure you got your items you bought with you and walk away in peace! Never ever order online

Visited this location this afternoon.
My partner and I were looking over a shelf when one of the sales floor associates (older woman) rudely interacted with my partner. This sales associate was assisting another customer in an attempt to sell a Cuisinart. While trying to get to the computer by the window, she jabbed him in the side multiple times while saying "excuse me" in a very rude tone. We were barely in the store a minute when this happened.
She should be reminded that touching customers is completely inappropriate and you that you shouldn't create a unwelcome environment in service of another customer.

Ordered a item from this location in Bethesda MD. I was told the item was in stock and it would ship. Still have not received the item. I called UPS with the tracking information and they said Label made but it has not shipped. I called William Sonoma (The ITEM IS OUT OF STOCK) As soon as it gets in stock they will ship. After 35 minutes on hold with William Sonoma Customer Service was far more informative than the store. What should of arrive by now is two weeks out. This was a gift, it meant a lot to us and what a fail it has been. So today I am going to La Sur Table to buy something so we do not show up at shower with NOTHING!

Refused to sell a Le Creuset display item since it was the last in stock. Tried purchasing other sizes and same result. Proceeded to watch the staff then move the out of stock Le Creuset display to the front window, and I couldn’t help but laugh. Sales lead was less than helpful unfortunately. Never have I experienced a more difficult time trying to give a business my $$!

Samantha was very helpful and kind. The teams patience and kindness was amazingespecially having 3 kids with me. The item I wanted was not available in the store but Samantha took her time to allocate it and placed the order for me. She made shopping for me easy. Thank you so much! Great customer service.

I have been this store many times and the staff members here are generally nice and helpful. But today, when I asked about a toast on display, this specific salesperson went back and came out with a different toast (same brand, but different series). She directed me to the checkout counter and asked me if I want to buy this one. I was under the impression that this was the exact model on display until I noticed the difference . I asked her to open the box and show me the product. She then admitted that this is not the model on display. The whole time she didn’t mention that this was not the model on display. If I didn’t pay attention, I would come home with a toast that I don’t want.

Staff convey the impression that customers are an unwanted distraction. Store was out of stock on the three items needed. Sales representative recommended ordering the items online directly from the manufacturers.

Worked primarily with Samantha at Williams Sonoma Bethesda Row to reserve and buy a few things in person, and then to resolve an order issue. She went above and beyond for me, can’t wait to return to buy more after my kitchen reno! It’s a great little store, great inventory, bright, clean and inviting.
