This store is more than the sum of its parts. I went in today, not needing anything in particular. I ended up having a nourishing conversation and leaving with some Dream Lion incense. I almost second-guessed myself on the incense, because it was a little pricey, but I'm home in my study with some lit now and I think it's the best I've ever bought, its transcendentally good and it gives me faith in the quality of Tortuga's stock list in general!

A friend and I stopped by Tortuga this past Sunday when we were exploring the Hamilton/Lauraville neighborhoods after I had read about the shop in Baltimore Magazine. It's a small but beautiful store filled with home goods, jewelry, wellness products, and accessories. The owner Julie stocks the store thoughtfully with goods by independent artisans and small brands. I'm moving in about a month, so I'm trying not to buy things right now that I'll just have to move. But I'll definitely return to Tortuga to grab candles, planters, candle holders, throw blankets, and other home items! The shop has parking in the back, and when you stop by to check it out, you can also wander to some other great shops on Lauraville Main Street (the new Snug Books, Zeke's coffee, and Wax Atlas)!

Julie is the best! She’s always open to coordinating pickups outside regular business hours! I love all things at Tortuga, my absolute favorite currently is the Square Trade incense cones . They burn forever and the sent permeates even when not burning. Plus the cute metal canister is perfect to reuse. #shopesmallbusiness

We walked past, and it smelled so good we had to go in! Wonderful shop, and great handmade items. We purchased some incense a stress relieving tincture, and some awesome smelling soap. I highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Julie is spectacular and soo personable. This boutique is perfect for the smart eclectic who is looking for a finishing touch via jewelry or something useful for the home. I feel that everything in this has a a great purpose.I've only been twice in the last year(my birthday) and really enjoyed my experience each time. Julie is welcoming and is easy to chat with. She is knowledgeable about each product in her store and has set each item out for viewing in a not cluttered, easily considered manner. I've purchased 2 pairs of earing that are completely me and just finish my look the way I want. I really hope to become a more frequent shopper.

I have known Julie the shop owner for years and she has an amazing and thoughtful eye at curating collections of handmade goods by talented designers, artists and artisans. If you are looking for a chic and unique gift or treat for yourself- this is a great place to find it. I am not local to Baltimore like I once was but love that she also offers an online shop!
