Matt pierced my septum. It was quick and painless. I thought it was gonna hurt but he reassured me the nostril was worse lol. And he was right. I will be going back for more piercings and my first tattoo.

I debated about writing this, but ultimately feel it's important. I had a bad experience with Clay. I knew the image would not be exactly as it was in the drawing, but Clay really did his own design without considering that this specific image was important to me. When I asked about repositioning the stencil he was frustrated. When I asked is he could make some changes to his rendering to be more like the original image, he essentially said, "I'm the artist, trust me" and was inflexible. There was a lot of toxic masculine energy that made it very uncomfortable to even discuss the situation and make shared decisions. Now I half of a tattoo that I really don't like and it is not even close to the original image.To Clay - You are a talented artist. Please be mindful of creating a space where people can freely discuss ideas and make changes without feeling ridiculed or like they are inconveniencing you. Though you are the artist, the art lives on our body and therefore we decide what goes there, not you. Just some food for thought.Service: Tattoos

Mt. Vernon Body Art is a great place to get tattooed. The shop is conveniently located close to 83, extremely clean, and has a punk/neogoth/hip-hop/anarchist vibe. Real kitsch and artsy. Clay was a excellent artist to work with. He totally understood the concept I was going for and able to incorporate all three elements in my tattoo. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone that wants quality work.

I originally came here back in January for my nose piercing with Matt. I was really nervous but he was super sweet, informative on the entire process and I was and still am super pleased with the result. From then, I was interested in coming back to get a tattoo with Clay. I had my consultation 6/15 and then had my appointment yesterday 8/31. Clay SURPASSED anything I’d imagined for my tattoo and I’m so in love with it. He’s super chill, kind, funny, and just made my experience the best. If you are looking for a professional artist with great atmosphere. Come check out MT. Vernon Body Art. I came in with a idea for a Egyptian piece, and Clay put my ideas together better than expected. Will be back for more work. Clean environment, staff was the best, and made the experience easy and fun.

EDIT 8/1/2022: I've gotten two tattoos and a whole new jewelry set for my wedding here! Great customer service and Matt has a great eye for body jewelry.Came here about 3 weeks ago because my ear lobe piercing was swelling up and I thought the the back of my earring fell off. Currently, they are by appointment only and I was able to pick up an appointment the same day. Masks are required when inside.Matt was really informative and cleaned up my piercing for me then magically my piercing healed within two days! Their studio is very clean and Matt changed his gloves at least 3 times just to check on my piercing! Will probably be back here to get my jewelry changed.Services: Piercings
