This was by far one of the worst hotels. First when we got to the event hotel there was a note o. The door saying go to another hotel. (Thank goodness for that because it looked a little iffy.) We go to the next destination and when we go to check in we were told its $150 cash deposit for each room. So thats $300. There was nothing about that online. Yeah you get that $150 back but it would be great to know about it up front. What if someone didn't have the money. They would have nowhere to stay. The rooms had peeling wallpaper. Bathroom door was broken. Toiletries were use. The sink had no water pressure. They were not new. How disgusting!!!! I did not open these.. this is what they looked like when we got there. This was by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Will not stay again will not recommend to anyone. Sorry but it was a very disappointing experience.

Reading some of the other reviews I had my concerns about staying here but overall I had a good stay. It's a decent small hotel in very close proximity to the harbor at a very affordable price. There were obvious things in the room that needed to be fixed and/or upgraded but you get what you pay for. The room was pretty clean, smelled good and I appreciated the hard "wood" floors as opposed to carpet. I slept well and it served it's purposed for me. I would stay there again.

Diamond in the rough. Beautiful architecture and comfortable. Within walking distance of power plant live with Valet parking. The showers are huge.

I don't think this hotel is associated with Best Western. Just known as Envy Hotel. I would give this hotel itself a 2 stars but because of the location I gave it a 3 stars. Pros: You pay what you get. I only paid $70 so it was worth it for just a night stay, wouldn't stay here for multiple nights. Also this is important - we got here and was told their credit card machine was not working so it was CASH ONLY (luckily we had $80 cash on us) and there is no ATM machine in house, so come prepared just in case. This hotel is probably one of the cheapest in this area (couple blocks away from the inner harbor) and there are a lot of nearby convenient store and fast food places. I am somewhat a clean freak when it comes to hotel rooms so I brought my own bedsheet, pillowcases, and blanket. The free breakfast was okay but hey! It is free! Cereal, coffee, waffle maker, toast, bagel, and fruits. Cons: The room was very small and bedsheets doesn't look clean and has hair still on it. The mattress feels old and kind of sinks down in the middle. Luckily I brought my own bedsheets and stuff. The bathroom door was weird (looked like they use used the old hotel room door for the bathroom door) and the water pressures (both in the sink and shower) are not constant. Another downside of this hotel is there is no wifi in the room. TV channels are very limited. Overall, I would recommend if you don't mind mediocre and cheap 2-star hotel near the inner harbor. I personally wouldn't recommend staying here for more than a night or 2.

Do not stay here. No front-desk person upon arrival. Waited 25 minutes for someone to show up. On a block where an individual should not walk alone, especially after dark. First room's door would not shut all the way meaning I could not lock it and room was set at 82 and could not be lowered. New room was better but peeling wallpaper, bugs, very noisy hallway. Doors slamming until 3am (heavy doors - no matter how you try to shut it, it will slam). No wifi. Said it was down and they were working on it... but no one seen working on it and the majority of reviews point to that it was conveniently down during their stay too. Did not feel safe during stay.

If you read any of the other reviews for Envy hotel, then you won't learn anything new from what I have to share. But if you enjoy a good story that memorializes my 2-night stay, read on.

If you read any of the other reviews for Envy hotel, then you won't learn anything new from what I have to share. But if you enjoy a good story that memorializes my 2-night stay, read on. Background: I travel to Baltimore weekly for work and get a very, very modest budget, near-impossible to work within standard hotel prices. This week, i found nearly all Baltimore hotels and airbnbs sold out, so pickings were slim. This fit in my budget with plenty leftover- done. On the day of my stay, i read reviews and was scared- ready to bail, eat the cost, and shell out hundreds out of my own pocket to stay elsewhere, but i decided to just see what happened. I don't really know where to start. I think this place reminds me of a terrible bnb i stayed in Russia, where the State run institutions really aren't held to any quality standards. Wall paper peeling, broken lamp shades, missing buttons from the elevator, occasional stale smell, odd ticking noises... also made me think of The Shining too. Anyway, I've survived worse, so i carried on. Yes it's cheap. So cheap. Just miserably cheap. "So what can you expect?," I asked myself while showering in ankle-deep still water. Regardless, the room is quite immaculately (visually) clean. Not a single speck of dust, nary a water spot on the sink or mirror. I mean honestly, it LOOKS cleaner than my house and probably any other hotel. It's like visiting a friend or a great aunt, where you know, the host is nice and attentive, but things look a bit questionable, you're a little scared for your skin to touch stuff, but i mean, you gotta trust they're not trying to kill you, right? So on a scale of 1-5, 1 being you likely will not make it out alive or sick and 5 being you probably will make it, I give Envy hotel a solid 3! Final notes: * "Feeling of safety" in this area is mmeeehhhhh... Interpret that how you will. I opted to Uber and be back in before dark. This ate up all the $ saved from the low cost of the room. * No- air conditioner doesn't work well. But, Mgmt knows this because they don't give you a blanket, just a single sheet! Thoughtful! Eco-friendly! * Yes- my room had a fridge! Not cold, but maybe as cold as the air conditioner! * No- WiFi in the rooms is a straight lie in the listing. Good luck actually getting any 3G reception. I'm writing this in Notepad on my phone to post online once I'm back in the civilized world. * Yes- sheets and towels are kind of stained. At this point, whatever. * About five cable channels work- i think one is HBO. * Yes- you will be disappointed by breakfast. But you can always take fruit for later! Healthy! * Front desk guy is a good guy. he is on top of it, attentive, check in was fast. it just seems like his mama raised him right, you know? * 1 star, will never, ever stay again Oh, here's a pic of the Bible in the bedside drawer.
