I can’t speak on the quality of the house tour but the ticketing process is very frustrating. The location seemed a little unkempt so I wanted to call and verify information before purchasing tickets and possibly showing up and no one being there ( the website clearly states tix are non refundable). You cannot verify any info by phone or speak to anyone on site unless you’re on location right at the time of the tour.By the time we arrived tix were sold out.Tour is probably great but just be aware you will need to purchase your tix and just run the risk of the whole thing being a sham.

I wish I could leave a 0 star for this place. I never got a chance to enter to see what’s inside. The rude worker said we had to wait outside in the 45 degree weather, in a (if I’m being honest) pretty bad neighborhood for 30 more minutes before we could enter. My family traveled from New Orleans to visit Baltimore and this museum was a part of our plans. Very discouraging. Do better! ??

This is a neat little museum to learn about a cultural icon. Edgar Allan Poe once lived in this small building. Find out more about his time there, as well as some of his other history.Poe is also buried nearby.Street parking is available, depending on when you come, and can save you a good deal over nearby garages.

My sister and I were very happy to be able to take our mother (who was visiting from Savannah, GA) to one of the historic homes of Edgar Allen Poe - one of her most favorite writers! This was such a treat! Laura was a great help before our arrival, being attentive and answering very quickly via text to our requests ! Jordan was a wonderful historical guide! He gave us such good information about Poe and my mother was so very pleased. Jordan even shared other historical sites for us to visit for Poe - and we did visit his grave site in Baltimore just a couple of miles (10ish minute walk away)! We are originally from Savannah, GA and we truly appreciate and value history! I'm so glad to have been able to help my mother's visit to Baltimore so very pleasant with this visit!

Dark, crowded and gloomy, Poe's home has been preserved and it's hard to imagine several adults living in these tiny cramped rooms. Winters must have been awful. The stairs are tight, twisty and dangerous. Worth the visit to walk the same floors that Poe did.

Amazing visit! It’s small but historic and impactful. Jordan shared so many tidbits of knowledge about Poe that made our visit so special (thanks Jordan!!). Laura was a welcoming face before I arrived and when we got there her cheer started our tour off beautifully.Great historic visit

One of the few things I knew I wanted to see in the city and it did not disappoint! We had a nice guy giving us the tour, he was friendly and knowledgable. We asked him all kinds of questions. One of my favorite things in Baltimore and can’t wait for them to get a bigger facility. Did not care for the girl at the desk, I asked her something and she steamrolled over my response. Online ticketing needs some work, very poor system to order on phones. They could use better gift shop items, we were ready to buy but hardly anything appealing

I was a little disappointed in this. My main issue is that the staff make you stand outside on the street corner until your designated time if you arrive early, give you there 20 minute "spiel" outside, and then tell you that you only have 20 minutes remaining in your tour time to see the house. The house is located in a dangerous area (my Uber driver told me to go inside and not stay on this street for very long) so I think it's a little ridiculous that they make you do this and then don't even bring you inside right at your designated your time.

Great piece of history and self paced. Reservations are needed, but there were some walk ups. For fans and history buffs, plan to spend the full hour. The house is very small, so it's an easy walk thru and can be done in 20 minutes. House is very authentic and minimally decorated. April, who spoke about the home and time period, has been with the house for 30 years. She has so many wonderful stories and answered all our questions. It is an amazing part of the big Poe tour if you add it to multiple other sites like visiting the gravesite. Gift shop is small and sizes limited.

The Edgar Allan Poe house and museum was the main reason I went to Baltimore and in the end, I was incredibly happy I dud. The house itself is incredibly well kept, Cramped only because it's an old house that was made that way and just pretty overall from the inside and out! The people working there were pretty cool to! They knew there stuff and knew once they had said their piece, to let visitors walk about as needed! The Exhibits on display are varied and just neat. They're spread throughout the museum and vary from Poes family tree and some of his personal belongings! Accompanying information gives you the details on each Exhibit, from the bottom to the top! If there were any complaints I have, it's the Crampedness is a bit overwhelming and the area it is in is not so much BAD just not well kept! That aside the Edgar Allan Poe house and museum is great, highly recommended by me and a staple of Baltimore culture and at a reasonable price no less!Videos and pictures are of the outside and inside of the Museum, Exhibits, and info on the Exhibits!

It is in just about the toughest part of Baltimore. So fitting for his art.The staff is wonderful and supportive. It is not ADA supportive. Tight quarters as they warn us.I was wowed.

Make sure you get reservations - unfortunately we were not aware they were required before we walked all the way there.
