BoatUS is great. They offer FREE online boating safety courses for all states. The courses are comprehensive and you can do them at your own pace.

WOW does this course take hours & hours! Primarily because the modules are timed and even if you read a paragraph in 10 seconds you're still going to have to wait for it to time out so you can advance.*HOWEVER the program does a good job of saving your progress, and admittedly- I truly learned a lot!?
