Local insurance broker is very helpful, but Wawanesa insurance keeps sending out rude dismissive appraisers who discount the actual damage pointed out to them, and make up wild theories about why the ceiling which had water coming through it into the house after the storms ripped off the shingles is cracking and pieces are falling off. The worst of which is in places my disabled mother is set up to be.

Beware of this company. Simple tasks are not so simple for the people working here. Changed our banking info with them a month in advance of the next payment. Well they pulled from the old account that we are no longer using. Were told the second time they tried for that payment it would be pulled from the new account. Well it wasn’t, and now we have two NSF fees. Edited to add - They did reimburse us for these, but it took some time to receive.

What a mistake it was to go with these guys. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THEM AS YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY.This company hires people who are so stupid that they will tell your broker that they just no longer wish to speak with them while still making mistakes on your account, costing you money.They have cost us hundreds with their mistakes and literally keep piling them on regardless of complaints made to them through broker.They will not be the cheapest option when they repeatedly charge you extra for no reason then take months to send out cheques for reparation.Just don’t. I can’t even imagine how hard it would be to get them to pay out for an accident when they can’t even get regular payments right.

Poor service!! Look for every loop hole they can find!! Announce after 20 some years they are not going to continue coverage!! On parts of package!!

Wawanesa seems to be a great Insurance Company. They are quick to resolve issues you may have with claims. They are very reasonable.

Been dealing with this company since April for a claim on our house. Been getting the runaround for 4 months now. Get nothing but excuses from the agent. We will be moving to another insurance company.
