My favorite bookstore in the world and a fantastic little gem amid the weird and lovely landscape of rural Maine. This is the kind of store that has curated and honed its selection to where I can find titles I'd be searching out for years and then browse randomly into amazing books that I wouldn't be able to find anywhere else. Inside is a cozy and comfortable space that's kid friendly and covered in Maine & Train ephemera. Make a day of things in Thorndike and Unity, it's worth the trip.

A cozy little book store in an old boxcar. The store is not large but the selection is excellent. It's obvious that the books are carefully chosen. The owners are friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit!

A treasure in an old train car. This little bookstore has an amazing collection of used books. The prices are really fair and the owners know the books well and are very helpful. It’s definitely the sort of place where you can find a rare book you never even knew you needed. The atmosphere is perfect: cozy yet enigmatic. It’s a bookstore that’s worthy of a pilgrimage so do yourself a favor and go out of your way to get there.
