When we found out that a Filipino Store (the only one in Maine, as far as I know) just recently opened in South Portland, my wife and I were really thrilled by the news. We used to have to travel to Quincy, MA, if we wanted to visit a Filipino store. Well, now, we don't have to anymore. This store has a good selection of Filipino products from snacks, ice cream, bread such as pan de sal, dried fish, bangus and many other food items. Heck, if you are in the mood for halo-halo, they have that too. Google Buena Vista Filipino Food Store to get a better idea of just what this store has to offer...I believe that you will be pleasantly surprised. Since this store only opened recently, they are still working hard to keep it well stocked. I do highly recommend this place to everyone. Oh, by the way, they do also offer, on certain days, lechon, dinuguan and other Filipino "ulams".

Being half filipino, I always wished there was a place that sold filipino food. Found this place and was so happy. Was able to buy a bunch of things that brought me back to the days growing up on the island. Talked to the owner for a little bit and was nice to talk to her about the Philippines. Definitely going back! Especially when they cook hot food! Highly recommend it for people who want authentic cooking and ingredients. The owner was very helpful with everything we were looking for.

I have been waiting for over 40 years for a Filipino store to open in Maine. It is amazing! So many offerings from snacks to baked goods from Christine's Bakery. Savory foods from Goldilocks to Magnolia and so much more! They have Filipino decorations and brooms and bags and beauty products. Today's trip we bought frozen lumpia, sio pao, shu mai, pandesal baliwag, dinuguan, Tito Als chicharrones and adobo peanuts and clover chips and and and soooo much.Quiet and friendly staff. Plenty of street parking on a Saturday too! They take credit cards. Can't wait to go back. I highly recommend!
