I moved from this area about 6 months ago, but if I'm in the area, I still shop for groceries here. You can't beat the meat taste or value. Sweet little grocery store.

Excellent deals and very friendly staff, the fresh veggies though are close to wilting stages. Bought fresh spinach for my guinea pigs and it was wilted by the end of the day. And was consistently in the fridge, at least the deer outside liked it though

This is a great little grocery store. The meat in particular is spectacular. There's new deals every week.

Stopped in to pick up Maine Red Snapper Hotdogs, hotdogs I could not find in any grocery stores in the Bangor and Brewer area and Maine potatoes, as well as types of deli meats you cannot find in the chain stores such as Hannaford, Shaw's, Walmart, etc. This IGA feels like Maine with MOXIE, whoopie pies, fresh vegetables and a strawberry preserve that actually has bits of strawberries in it. The feels of a local hometown grocery store of years past with employees that made you welcome which is a rare thing these days.

IGA does not except Federal IDs such as passport books or IDs. I don’t who the owners are, but with the UMaine being right on their door step and with the amount immigrant students. They have cut out a huge demographic, it’s truly a shame what they are doing. I left all the products on the counter and walk out. I won’t be supporting a local own business that decides to cut off such a large demographic, especially since passport IDs are becoming more common. Either way right down to Hannaford and got everything cheaper. Plus I didn’t have to be ID for margarita mix. Thank God for Hannaford.
