“Update NOV 2023I'm upping the score for 2 reasons. #1 It's been about 12 months with no issues, #2 One of the managers contacted me to apologize. He informed me that their staff had not received adequate training on the Truth in Lending Act and, they were taking steps to do better going forward. I actually really appreciated that they were willing to admit fault in this incident and display a genuine effort to improve.Original PostIf you are looking for a mortgage, I would stay far away from Bangor Savings.They were always unprepared, and getting closing disclosures from them was like pulling teeth. On multiple occasions they forced me to sign incorrect documents. After almost daily phone calls, I finally received the correct documents the day before closing.Loan servicing is not much better. The portal provides very little information and since I don’t bank with Bangor Savings, there are no options to pay my mortgage online. My only option to make or change payments is through a 15-20 minute online chat.”

“Bangor Savings Bank has been very consistent in all aspects but also very highly rated in my opinion. The availability of being wheel chair accessible , having extended drive thru hours on week days ,and kind Friendly knowledgeable employees and management has always been a great reason to bank here. The parking is ample and close to entrances.The Saturday hours and drive thru hours differ between branches and season .I wish more branches had extended hours or drive thru hours on Saturdays. I highly recommend Bangor Savings Bank to everyone -; it has a personal touch that many do not.”

“I feel Bangor Savings Bank is the last of the Banks on this area that gives you that friendly ,hometown, familiar and safe feeling about being a customer.Along with the utmost efficiency and state of the art banking practices, and up to the minute convient individual services it providesits filled has very courteous employees who bend over backwards to help a person no matter what question or problem one might be facing.In my small hometown here in Maine - there were only 2 Banks when I was growing up -70 years ago.Bangor Savings and one other.My best friends Mom who baked cookies and listened to our problems from an early age was considered it's President for many many years.This bank has remained consistent in every aspect of it service , and capabilities to be the same friendly helpful efficient bank that I had before I left the area for many years... and upon my returned - it had only improved.I would sincerely recommend as well as urge a person to join Bangor Savings Bank. I have that much confidence in this establishment.Banks are not my favorite " thing " That small town service is still present today. I cannot tell you the number of times they have helped people thru difficult times.I think of my favorite Christmas Movie "" It's A Wonderful Life " ( the Lobbys are similar even.) And I recall the Bangor Savings Bank in my hometown doing just that - help people build wonderful lives. That's what banks did back then.And in today's world with all the misinformation and disinformation and all the talk of banks surprising their customers with digital money etc... etc... people can become nervous .. about where their money is. - knowing Bangor Savings is still here , - well that takes a lot of stress out of a person's life. And a stress free life is truly wonderful”
