We were on vacation in Maine this summer (with our year old cat) and I noticed he was having trouble urinating. I know that this is a medical emergency for male cats, so I tried to find a vet (from our remote cottage on Small Point where phone/internet service isn't the greatest). The first vet I called in Bath was unable to help and suggested I take him to the emergency vet in Portland. I really didn't want to do that (I would have if it had ended up being the only option) and decided to make one more call to Bath-Brunswick Veterinary Associates. They were very kind and caring on the phone when I explained the situation, and squeezed us in for that day, an hour later! We took him in, and I was very impressed with how welcoming and compassionate all of the staff was! Even though we had to wait a while, which I completely understood, they got him right in and made decisions on how to proceed. When it looked like it was going to take even longer to get a urine sample and test results, the doctor, knowing we were on vacation, suggested that we leave and come back to pick him up at the end of the day. I can't say it enough, the doctor was incredibly kind and I knew that our cat was in the best hands he could possibly be in. They kept in touch with me throughout the day, and when we went back later that afternoon, the doctor had come up with a care plan for his urinary tract disease. The plan included prescription canned cat food, and they gave me what they had in stock. They had also given our cat fluids, which eventually "got things going" and he was able to urinate normally. We had no further issues I am so grateful for the care my cat received, at the last minute, from a veterinary office that he wasn't even a patient at! If we didn't live so far away, this would 100% be our regular vet. I can't recommend Bath-Brunswick Veterinary Associates enough, they care about every animal they see (while we were waiting I observed this over and over again as other clients came in to the office) and providing the best care possible. I would give 10 stars if that were an option!

We first came to Bath Brunswick Veterinary in 2019 when it became time to put down our Doberman due to Dobie heart. At the time we were part time Mainers and didn’t have a vet in Maine. It was on a busy Saturday morning that I called the office and explained we weren’t clients and asked if they could help us. Without hesitation we were told to bring him in. Every staff member who interacted with Bo treated him as though they had known and loved him for years! They even made a paw print for us. Since that time the practice has remained true to our first impression. The entire staff wants to be a part of taking care of your pet and they listen to you. We wouldn’t take our pups anywhere else. I highly recommend them.

Great vet and lots of help to my Chihuahua and I. Just so expensive, but that is everywhere now, I guess.

They are great with our dog. Very kind and caring but they are very expensive. Look, they are veterinarians NOT DRS!

Fantastic experience bringing our recently adopted pup in to have her eye checked out. We had originally booked time for 3 but they got us in sooner when we noticed it was getting worse. Dr. Quinn made all the info easy to understand and I already see an improvement. The entire staff was lovely. Thanks guys!

Huge thanks to Robin at Bath-Brunswick Veterinary who tracked down a local desmopressin source for our Cushing's dog when our out-of-state pharmacy couldn't ship. She went above and beyond and we are so grateful for her help.

My dog, Skipper, and myself have been patients of Bath Brunswick Verterinary Associates for many years and my two dogs before that (including during Covid). The staff have always been very pleasant and helpful. Dr. Ellithorpe. BBVA is so very knowledgeable on "all things Dog" and takes time during our visits to explain everything that we need to know...there is not rushing us in and out. BBVA is truly a caring and expertly staffed veterinary hospital.

We want to thank Dr. Quinn for his kindness to us while we determined if it was time to offer our little Lily Mae pup our last loving care as her parents. It's a heart-wrenching decision as everyone knows and Dr. Quinn took the time to listen to us share all of the details of her health and honestly share with us the options that we could take. We both knew that we would have to say good-bye to our little love bug in that moment, but Dr. Quinn and the staff made that moment as peaceful and serene as it could be. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Kevin Chretien is a dedicated and caring vet. I brought my cat SheereKhan in for emergency care several times. Dr Chretien gave him excellent care, and I am sure he saved his life. I would recommend this practice highly.

This veterinary office is the very best. We've been taking our golden retrievers to Dr. Miranda Smith since we moved to Maine 17 years ago and have consistently experienced wonderful service ever since from Miranda and all of the office staff, especially Kathy (sp.). We'll be continuing at BBVA with our year and a half y.o. golden, Clipper, who loves going there, especially if other animals are also there! Thank you to all the staff, who love Clipper even when he's a bit rambunctious!!

Because I always have 2 or 3 rescue dogs, committed, dependable vet service is of paramount importance to me. I have looked askance at the introduction of corporate ownership of vet clinics, and that is because, by and large, corporations are focused on profits above all else. Fortunately, I know and trust the staff at BBVA -- and they know me and my dogs. We couldn't be happier or more satisfied! Thanks!

We've been with BBVA for many years but for the past 9 years we've primarily had Dr. Kevin Chretien. Most of our appointments for Harley and Darby have been routine. Dr Chretien is amazing. He's caring and always gentle and always knows our dog's medical history before he enters the room. He always asks how we are doing and explains everything pertaining to our dog's health and treatment. A few months ago we had to say goodbye to Harley. Dr Chretin was so comforting and caring. We had all the time we needed and appreciated everything he did for us. All the staff was sympathetic and understanding. Before Dr Chretien we usually saw Dr Miranda Smith. She too is amazing. I can't imagine going anywhere else!
