This is a working museum. We went on a special event day. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Fresh pressed apple cider, homemade beans and biscuits were available for purchase. Bring your own water or sandwiches/snacks if you want anything else. Trails well maintained for walking. Wagon rides and golf carts are available to take you from one area to another.

Great place to visit. Unfortunately, the buildings are closed most of the time.

Great place to go hiking and biking, events are well organized and the staff are extremely friendly. Definitely go check it out when there's an event or you're in the area when the sun's up.

Wish we had more time to spend here. The staff are extremely nice. Beautiful grounds. LOTS of mosquitoes so be prepared!

A free place to visit that shows some relics of the past set in a pristine forest glen. I was mostly alone when I visited and found the stroll to be really serene. Got some great pics, too. Worth a visit...and the price is right!

Such an incredible visit! The kids loved all the "old fashioned" demonstrations at Children's Day!

Don't go here. There was nothing on any sign that told us it was closed. It's down a long bumpy gravel road and no signs told us it was not open. Another sad testament to Bangor Maine's poor Visitors Center information.

Absolutely fascinating place. We were lucky enough to get a tour with Abby and her Dad who was extremely well informed and even took us to a ride in one of the logging vehicles

A hidden gem in the area. Well maintained with a recreated village and hiking trails. I always visit in the spring to watch the fish swimming upstream. Be sure to check out the events (when they can be held again) to see the vintage logging equipment operating.

Wonderful hidden gem to visit! well maintained paths, nice small water fall with fish trap. Kids love it! you get quite close to the fish and I guess you can pick somenif you want to. Please donate to the organization as they do great job keeping the place in good shape for the coming generations.
