Rented a car to drive to Boston at 2 am for a flight. All the interior lights were turned off, so we had to mess with that. We got going and realized the headlights were pointed so far down, that we could only see what was directly in front of us and the brights were basically like what the regular lights should be. It’s pretty nerve wracking driving from Bangor to Boston in the dark without knowing if you’ll have enough time to react if a deer jumps out because you can’t see more than 10 feet in front of you and hardly anything to the sides of the highway.

Nothing wrong aside from the unskipable 10 second ads on YouTube.Edit: Getting to the person that wanted to know if they could help would be a nightmare, so I'll just spell it out. "I will never rent from Hertz because your Tom Brady(Cruise) ads are so bad i'd rather walk."

No problems at all. They seem nicer than the average Hertz counter

Asked for some discount because the car had a blowout on the freeway in Tennessee. I paid for damage waiver which was exorbitant but was told because I didn't have the "deluxe" waiver I had to pay for the new tire installation which was $78. Ridiculous and unfair....especially since I lost almost a days travel time as I don't drive after dark. Will never rent from Hertz again!!!

After speaking with AAA representatives and multiple agents with Hertz, I booked and prepaid in full for a rental for 4 days. When I arrived I was given drastically different information at the airport and charged new fees that I was guaranteed not to be charged beforehand. (Thus doubling the price I budgeted for the rental). They put a 630$ hold on my account (more than stated would be held). And at the end of my rental, I never received that back and my bank has no idea where it went. Not only will I absolutely never rent with hertz again, I don't think I can plan a vacation again where I rent a car in the first place. I would've spent half as much just ubering around.

I had a great experience with Hertz, as of writing this they are one of the few companies still doing one way rentals.

I’m not one to usually write reviews but my experience with Hertz at Bangor International was simply top notch. The staff is AMAZING and they were able to answer any questions I had and were completely transparent about the whole process. I will definitely be using them in the future!

They should call it customer no service. TELL YOUR CEO TO TAKE A PAY CUT AND HIRE MORE PHONE AGENTS. STOP BUYING EXPENSIVE NEW CARS.

Beware Hertz Charged An Extra $232 For Pre-Paid Vehicle Rental This is in regard to a vehicle that I rented from Hertz in Bangor, Maine. I had reserved a pre-paid rental car for two months prior to my vacation in mid-May in Bangor, ME. Delta Airlines cancelled a flight to Bangor from Seattle on 05/16 and there were no planes flying to Maine that evening. As a result, I took a plane to Boston and when I arrived, I took a train to Portland and a Concord Bus to Bangor that day. Even though I had notified Hertz the day before the cancellation, Hertz charged me an extra $232 for canceling the first day. As a result, I ended up paying $604 for a 6-day rental car when my original price had been $371. Although I had asked for a medium sized car, as. I drive a Mini Cooper, they gave me a large 2018 Nissan Rogue that did not have a working seat belt and I was driving for 6 days in small towns on 2-lane highways. I received a email from Jeff Newton, a manager in Portland, ME, who meekly apologized, but it appears he has a major problem with conflict resolution by avoidance, and did not provide any type of reimbursement or discount for a future rental. Silly me, I once thought Hertz was the best rental car in the U.S. although in reality they are a corporation who are taking advantage of price gouging during the pandemic. I highly recommend Avis, Enterprise or Budget as this once highly rated company is now very poorly run. BTW, for $100 a day, I was given a 2018 Nissan when the 2023 cars are coming on the market now. Being that this car was reserved with a Platinum AMEX, I will be contacting AMEX to let them know of my experience with Hertz.
