“Very nice upgrade from the old store. Helpful staff and a fair selection help to offset the insanely high prices. I really only venture here in emergency situations on account of my not being a member of the aristocracy.”

“A really cool and unique bodega. The produce on hand was not fresh and had a good deal of mold, but everything else was completely fine. The woman who assisted me with my purchase was very lovely, suggested I return when they start the pizza ovens open for business soon.If I lived in this town, I definitely would, unfortunately I’m just a passersby, but I definitely recommend this little humble spot for some basic goods, whether unique or familiar to you.”

“IN OVER 30 YEARS I'VE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED 1. Prepared Foods: perhaps the biggest selection in New Orleans. Some standouts: - the chicken salad is the best in the city and they can't keep it on the shelves. - they make my favorite coleslaw, lightly sweet and sour, with a bit of Creole mustard; great on sandwiches (see pic). - better cheddar is a little spicy - which I prefer. 2. Employee retention: I'd say that at least 6 employees ( management, cashier, deli, etc.) have been with this small organization since I moved back uptown 10 years ago.”

“Nikki, Nana, & Slim are some of the best cooks in NOLA. Let me tell you they have the best Fish & Grits bar none! And those smothered potatoes, OMG!...We went there one night after the club to eat and the food was so good we slept like babys and dreamed about that damn food it was so good to our soul. We went back the next day for more and bout 4 plates extra for our drive back home to Houston. My God that was the best eating this side of heaven. I'm just saying. If you want good down home real southern breakfast and creole cuisine this lil' hole in the wall down in the hood is where it's at. You want be disappointed. Tell'em Kevin Cooper from Houston sent ya!”

“You Best believe this is the best deal on a shrimp plate in the city and seasoned. Hanks supermarket is definitely that go to spot daytime or night but especially after hours. They have breakfast, chicken and seafood plates along various PoBoys. One of the best things outside the flavor are the prices very reasonable and definitely a good fix for a late night of drinking and partying. I had a shrimp platter which comes with 20 shrimp and a very nice size and season with little kick laying on top of a bed of seasoned fries. Also comes out piping hot and overstuffed pouring out the side of the plate. This is a recommended spot Anytime at sun's up or sun down, but you won't regret it. At least your stomach won't.”
