“Our Airbnb host recommended this hidden gem, and don't let the sketchy exterior fool you --it exceeded all expectations! We ordered 20-piece wings and a bowl of combination yakamein. The wings were amazing; not overly salty, exquisitely seasoned, and served freshly that's hard to find elsewhere in the US in my opinion. We also tried the yakamein for the first time, and the soup had a delightful kick, while the noodles were perfectly cooked. Super glad that we didn't fall into visiting a tourist trap!!”

“These guys are great. They've got a surprising selection of veggie microwave meal or meat sub options (Morningstar Buffalo chicken nuggets for example), Mateo's salsa, and good tortillas. But to mention a good variety of beverages for all flavor of thirsty. Plus the guys are nice and it's rarely busy so you're in and out quick.”

“I got very sick on my trip to NOLA and felt lucky to find such a well-run CVS. They had all the medicines I needed and the pharmacists were helpful and courteous. The only negative is the neighborhood - I had 2 different men approach me outside this CVS when I was going to walk to my hotel. One was out of his mind on drugs. Didn't feel safe, so i went back inside and called an Uber.”

“While I’ve only been amidst a blackout episode, I found this joint to be quite hip. My gun fell on the ground and accidentally discharged. Everyone in there was friendly and the chicken skin was delicious”

“I luv this place at first I was skeptical but as I started to drive here and when I lost my car due to and accident I was glad to know it was walking distance , I walk here most of the time and sometimes I have one or all of my babies with me, but lately I just been taking one of my babies , kids get too excited in stores so I had to narrow it down but dat most I luv going here and they are so kind even if they are acting I approve which I know isn’t and act, I went today for a night cap but they was closed, my lil heart was broken because I have noway to get to any other location for a night cap but foremost I rarely ever seen them closed on a Monday ( hopefully whatever the case is all is well ) I wouldn’t change the people at this location for nothing in the world the lady is so sweet to my baby when we do check out after walking in and so is the slim guy they are amazing”

“My wife and I arrived in New Orleans after a full day of driving. We were really hungry and really tired. Thankfully we found v&t food store. This is not a fancy place, it is a truly authentic neighbourhood place with amazing takeout food.We got a couple of Po Boys (shrimp and hamburger) and took them back to our place, best sandwich I've ever had. No kidding. Oh I almost forgot, get the GUMBO. Brilliant. And kicks the butt of any fancy restaurant in the quarter. We were so impressed we went back on Christmas Eve and got food for Xmas Eve and Xmas day, it was awesome. The food was utterly amazing, people were friendly, they made us feel right at home. The place can look a little intimidating from the outside but don't be fooled.Highly recommended.”

“Abe and Wally are some of the nicest guys you'll ever meet and they run a great little store. The food is quite amazing. And CHEAP! I'm talking about $7 bucks for a 16" Fried Shrimp poboy! Hot plate lunches, daily specials. Then they have a variety of sundries, all at very reasonable prices. Gas prices are always below average.”

“This little gas station and convenience store is a real gem in the middle of the Uptown neighborhood of New Orleans.Lots of convenience stores in New Orleans sell fried chicken, but this store celebrates the fact that it is owned by Middle Eastern folks - with a genuine Middle Eastern restaurant in the convenience store. They specialize in Chicken Shawarma.Zak at the cash register was a wonderful host.Don’t miss it!”

“This place has those little White Castle burgers which are the freshest I’ve found! Also, they provide a microwave to heat them. The prices are good and they have a nice selection for a convenience store.”

“This little store was convenient to the hotel at which we were staying. They had a little bit of everything, but prices were a bit high for some basics like bottled water. There wasn't much else around, so this was about it when you didn't want to walk up to where all of the other stuff is. It serves its purpose.”

“We were staying across the street and stopped into this corner store multiple times. Nice selection of fresh foods and snacks, water and alcohol. So much nicer than the other neighboring convenience stores (and much better prices). Brandy rung us up on a Sunday night and she was very friendly! Great customer service!”

“I've been going to Mike's for several years now and I mostly go at night they used to be open till 2 am but now they close at midnight. They have a great selection of tobacco products and snacks and a surprising but if household items for such a small store. The two employees you'll meet at night are Mike a small Hispanic man who's pretty quiet but whom if you talk to has a nice comforting manner to himAnd major who has honestly watched me grow up a little, he's a great person to talk to, gives wonderful advice, and honestly he's got ur back, but he's definitely the kind of guy who can stand his ground for the good of the storeThis store is nicely settled on Claiborne very close to a lot of residents of the bywater. I've taken many intoxicated walks up there and it's a great place to go to restock your party.I give this place 5/5 stars genuine employees, convenient location, abundant selection of goods, nice and clean store, and they enforce the mask policy”

“I have visited this location numerous of times. It's not that far from my house. I saw on the menu they sell part wings. However everytime i go the "truck" has not came yet. So Saturday I called before I went there and was told they finally had them. Only to be disappointed when I got there. They only had whole wings. So I settled for the whole wings. They were good, had great flavor. I was told that half of what's advertised on the menu they don't have in the store. The gentle that was cooking the food was great and had a wonderful attitude. As well as the new owners, who apploiges for my inconventice.”
