I wasn't planning on leaving a comment but after seeing so many terrible ones, I felt like I needed to. Back in February of 2020 I was still living in Virginia Beach and I was purchasing a new home in Metairie and Hancock. Whitney was the bank that I chose to bank with after my move back to Metairie. During my home purchase there were documents that needed to be signed in order to move forward with the purchase of my home and with me being in Virginia Beach there were a few hoops that I needed to jump through in order to get the paperwork processed. This particular Branch bent over backwards to help me get all of my documentation taken care of in a very timely manner in order for me to complete the move when I needed to. I'm not 100% sure but I feel like they even went above and beyond things that they don't normally do to help me make this process happen. Even after I moved back to Metairie, I still had some things that needed to be accomplished in a timely manner and again I felt as if this particular branch went out of their way to make sure that I was completely satisfied with the service and I was. I'm sad to see so many people having issues with this Bank because I have never had an issue.

So I went into this branch to verify my identity for another account I opened from a different bank. I was told I had to bring in a statement showing my name. The account was new so it would take 30 days to receive a statement. Went to my new bank and got a print out, Hancock would not accept it.....with me standing there with state and federal id. I was kicked out of my mobile app and online banking. While I was there I decided to close the account (inside Hancock). Now I'm receiving overdraft letters almost a month later and a new bank card. Just called and the rep said the account was never closed. But I have the paperwork from the bank teller. RUN FROM THIS BANK.

Actually negative 5stars. Anytime I try to cash my weekly paycheck at this branch there is always an issue. 2 yrs running. A month ago my employer called to complain on my behalf. Today they refused to cash my check completely. No other branches open on Saturday near me. So I have to wait until Monday to go to another branch. Unfortunately they close before I get off work. Thus the reason for Saturday banking. After reading others reviews, I now understand why banking here is so difficult. Hopefully management reads these reviews and does something to improve customer service at this location. Almost seems like they are offended that I don't want to open an account, merely cash my payroll check written from an account in there bank. Why would I ever consider opening an account with a bank that refuses to cash there own checks?

Slow service and $8 check asking fee for non-Whitney customers cashing a check written by a HWB customer . Just robbery and should be avoided.

This Whitney is the worst their customer service and Branch Manager didn’t want to release my funds that belongs to me and not going to until Christmas Eve. I never got treated so badly from a bank before and I’am a new customer at that. But as soon as my money is cleared I will be closing the account and go somewhere else. Don’t I mean Don’t get a account with Whitney!!

ATM does not work with other Banks cards. Useless as tits on a boar. Recommend avoiding.
