This is a pretty extraordinary gas station/Convenience Store/truckstop.It is located on the main drag running north from Houma to Gray - just a couple of miles from the visitor center. The store is large and has a very diverse inventory. It feels like a cross between a convenience store, an arts and crafts store and a major interstate truckstop. It reminded me of the huge gas station/department store/country general store where we used to go outside of Burnsville North Carolina. The first time I stopped by yesterday, I met the attractive young owner who told me that she had just returned from a buying trip out in Nevada.I had complimented her on her collection of large Native American dream catchers and she said she had just bought them on that trip. The store also has a pretty extraordinary selection of knives. In my whole two years of full-time travel through mostly rural areas in the south east and south, I have always been short of good knives. I hope to buy one or two when I get my Social Security check in a week.I just rescued a fabulous mostly Basenji hunting dog from the swamps north of Laplace. She needs a big area to run.If you go out back of the store, back past where the semi‘s are parked, there is open space that stretches back for probably a mile. Me and my Magic had a pretty amazing walk out there twice yesterday and already this morning.Magic and I were awakened early this morning when she barked at somebody just outside the van.It turned out to be a really nice guy - employee of the store – who I think spends his full-time patrolling the entire campus picking up litter. That is an extraordinary investment on the part of the store - and one I have not encountered anywhere else in our travels. Most everywhere I go - over two years of travel and dozens of country gas station/convenience stores - mostly the staff never get time to get away from the cash register and nobody ever picks up the litter, or very seldom.I have ended up taking on that job with places that I like - and I will sometimes spend as much as an hour picking up the litter around a favorite convenience store. This place prioritizes keeping the grounds nice and pays somebody to do that full-time. I’m very impressed.I have found the staff very helpful and friendly and there is just kind of a cozy country feeling about this whole place.I recommend it very highly.

They offer a variety of options. Anything from a milkshake to making a payment on a power bill. It was quite a bit to take in. Very convenient to buy gas as well.

Went in and ordered 5 roast beef poboys, waited a hour for them to be prepared. Got my order walked out to eat one of them and it was on hamburger buns, not French bread. I walked back in to see if it was a mistake was told that they ran out of French bread. I was kinda disappointed, because I was looking forward to a poboy all day after hearing their radio ad on multiple times on the radio all day.

The attendant was really rude, I came in knowing exactly what I was looking for (sword or knife for a birthday present) and when I asked for a price of something that was not labeled, she rudely said that she would only know the price if she opened the case, so I assumed that was what she was going to do when she walked back to the register. But I stood there just waiting for about 5 mins.... noone else in the store for her to be worried about. I found a similar item with a price since she decided not to give me a price, but decided not to get it because I'm not paying for rude customer service!
