I was watching my grand baby pup for a few days and given that he needed his nails trimmed, which his mother asked me to have done, and was still carrying and favoring the same paw, (toenail), he had hurt a couple of weeks before, I requested the vet to take a look. They did and diagnosed he had torn his nail from the bed, but was reattaching, so hopefully, given a bit more time, all would be good. They gave me a couple of meds for him and charged for the office call. I paid it and went on my way, but before leaving town, reviewed the receipt and saw that a reg office visit is $40, but because I didn't call first, was charged an extra $20. I didn't know to call first, and unless somewhere I could not see, saw no signs stating the differing charges posted. After finishing with my other task, I stopped back by the vet and explained to the receptionist that it was not an emergency, I didn't know you had to call before bringing a pet in, and therefore asked for a refund of the $20. I was told no, that it was policy and done to keep those with appointments from having to wait due to walk-ins. Odd, because when I had entered with him, I was told that they would have to work us in between appointments, so may be a bit. Which is it? If working us in, would not conflict with said appointments, thereby, making the extra charge fraudulent. Anyway, I was told that I would know "next time", to which I responded and fully mean, "There will be no 'next time'." Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.
