I bought a home in Kentucky that had 1/3 of the fencing down and a hole in the corner. I have a little dogs that could get out so they came right away and fixed it. They have been wonderful to work with. Larry Burgess is a sales person I worked with. He was so friendly. I feel like I have known him a long time and he was able to get me help right away.

It’s hard to find good contractors to come out to Salt springs so I was grateful for them! They were very communicative and professional and I am pleased with the final outcome. They even came out again to fix the gate that needed realignment.Services: Custom fence construction

Update: Chuck from Penrod contacted us and was very accommodating in finding a solution. It was clearly an in-house miscommunication regarding the project and the correct billing. He assured us that the original quote was correct and stood by the original pricing. The fence seems fine and we appreciate their willingness to work with us in finding a solution. I’m only leaving my original review up in case someone saw it so they’d know it’s been resolved. Thanks Chuck.Original review: Use this company with understanding that you have to micromanage the entire project! Hold them accountable! They gave us a quote a few months ago and we were VERY clear on what we wanted in terms of the fence, gate, etc.The quote that we received was reasonable and the project description on the quote was what we had talked about at the initial meeting.They were not very responsive but did end up showing up more or less on time. The guy handling the work was very nice but he had no idea what we wanted when he arrived which I thought was weird. I explained it to him and they did a decent job…a very basic version of what we wanted. There was one board that was just set against the fence that I had to nail myself later. The gate area was not exactly what we asked for but it was fine…also, they did ZERO clean up. It was a mess!!!They basically did exactly what the quote page stated. No more, no less. We made no additions or adjustments to the plan.We had paid a $2000 deposit.I received the final bill through email this week and it was $465 more than the quote. That’s a big increase percentage-wise. It’s enough of an increase that, had I known, I might have used another company. That’s what quotes are for!I’ve emailed and called for an explanation before I pay the final bill but I’m getting no response. Seems like shady business practices to me.I plan on paying the balance of the original quote with a note saying that I’m happy to submit the rest when I get an explanation of the increase. I’m assuming maybe they mid-measured or something but shouldn’t a fence company be able to measure a fence and give an accurate quote?Also, what kind of company increases their charges by that much with no explanation?Service: Wood fence installation

We live in Oldham County (south) and have a 4 board fence around an approximate 1/2 acre back yard. Penrod was recommended by a neighbor. They're workers were professional and the representatives from the company good to work with.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Started working on a subdivision fence before 9:00 AM on a Sunday morning when ask why the head guy just said oh well and walked off very unprofessional they woke up everyone in the house and my neighbor who works nights not very kind I will not ever use this company and I will be filling a complaint with the city and code

Update to say I spoke to the rep today and appreciate Penrod working to make this right.At first I was very impressed. They installed my privacy fence in one day, and did it cheaper than the competition. As time went on, however, I began to realize one of my gates was not installed properly. Then my larger gate anchor kept coming loose. I fixed the anchor myself and decided no big deal. Then this last wind storm came through and bent my big gate hinges like they were twist ties of something. I called Penrod out for a quote. The rep agreed that one gate was installed wrong and the other gate should be an easy fix with new hinges. He emailed quote of $750! The quote did not break down labor or supplies at all. I replied and asked why it was so high especially since they installed one gate incorrectly. I never got an answer. So I went to Lowe's and bought new hinges. This is when I realized the hinges they originally used were way too small for such a heavy gate. So I'll fix it myself for about $112, and I'll do it correctly with hopes that they hold next time we get bad weather. I really was hoping for more thoughtful customer service and follow up. I've Before now I've referred 4 or 5 customers to this company. So very disappointed. ?Service: Wood fence installation

Customer service is nonexistent. It’s like making a purchase is inconvenient and an interruption to their conversation about how they won’t unload the products people order for delivery. Selection is ok if you know how to make do. Tried many times and it’s always the same. I’ll be driving past them to get to Lowes as long as they are in business
