Designs in Stone did my countertops through Home Depot. The process was seemless. They came when they were scheduled too, professional in everyway. Start to finish was about 6 weeks which is great for custom countertops. I can’t say enough good things about the experience. I live in Lexington and they are located in Louisville but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Photos before the outlets were switched over to white. The quartz used was Everest which has sparkles in it. It brightened up the kitchen and looks so good. Couldn’t be happier.

Definitely disappointed in the whole process. Sorry this may be long, but there are definitely a few things I feel are important to share if you are dealing with Designs in Stone. For starters, the product was somewhat ok, but install and follow up was definitely subpar for the amount of money spent. So we purchased quartz countertops through Home Depot and Designs In Stone were the contracts that did the work for Home Depot.First level of disappointment happened when they confirmed an install date (a Tuesday) and called the night before (Monday Night) and canceled. We had already removed our old countertop and sink that day anticipating the install the next morning. We were then told they would be out on Friday to install. We continued the week with no old countertops or sink. Friday morning we got a call that they could not safety make the drive because of the weather and that they would be out the following Monday.Monday morning the two installers showed up on time thankfully as we had been without a sink for a week. One of the installers came in the home smelling like marijuana pretty bad. Hey all for your being you on your own time, but didn't appreciate our home now smelling like it. The installers were nice but spent a lot of time heavily debating with each other how they were going to install them in the kitchen. Once they were set in the kitchen, I noticed that where two slabs connected at the sink, they were clearly different thicknesses. at first the installer said it wasn't an issue and you wouldn't see it because it would be shimmed. Well I pointed out that there was a rough edge on the underside of the countertop 1/8 inch different. He agreed it was an issue and said he would make a phone call and let me know what the solution was. He went outside and returned a few minutes later. He told us that we had two options. We could deny the install and have them take the slab back and have then cut another piece. They would have to re-schedule an install date and he did not know how long the process would take. He said the other option would be to accept the countertop the way it is and get a discount from home depot. I discussed the options with my wife and due to not having an operating kitchen for over week and the delays we decided to go with the discount. The installer took pictures and stated he would make sure its documented so there wouldn't be any issues. They finished installing the countertops and asked me to come sign the paperwork. Upon looking at the countertops I saw that silicone was only placed on the back or a small section of countertop and not all the way around the back edge. Installers stated that they didn't have any more silicone and that since I'm already getting a discount, If I wanted to finish it, they would add it to the discount. I also noticed the edge under where the two pieces were different thicknesses. It appeared as though they added extra epoxy then they sealed the seam in an attempt to feather the difference, however this lead to there being some sharp edges and globs of epoxy in the underside. The installer stated that it could just be sanded down. When the installers were leaving, I asked them if the discount would be something automatic or how that process happened. They stated that I would have to deal with Home Depot directly. We drove to home depot where I purchased the silicone and spoke with their salesperson. Home Depot sales was very understanding and apologized knowing that the service was substandard. They took our information and pictures and stated that management would be handling the discount.I received a call from Design In Stone the following day stating they wanted to schedule a time to come out and silicone around the outside edge. I went through the whole story with them. They apologized and stated they would not approve any discount.Super frustrating experience with Designs In Stone. And I would definitely recommend shopping somewhere else. And if you go through a big box store, ask who will be contrac

We ordered our countertops through Home Depot and they subcontract out with Designs in Stone for the countertop cutting. Home Depot, fabulous job. Designs in stone, not at all. They changed the seam placement on my countertop without my permission, then proceeded to tell that I HAD approved it that way. Clearly the designed image I approved was very different. They called to tell me it needed to be changed and when I said, no that's not what we agreed on or what I want, they proceeded to tell me it was already cut and couldn't be changed and that was it. I refused to pay for that as I'm not paying for their mistake. Luckily Home Depot made it right, but they did not. They also tried to inform me prior to this happening that a change in stone pattern would cost me extra. Home Depot had assured me this was not the case (I asked before I ever thought about changing it, just in case). I don't know what they're doing over there but it's not good. Stay away.

We contracted through Home Depot to install Quartz countertops in our kitchen in early October. Home Depot subcontracted the work to Designs in Stone and work was scheduled over a time that should have been completed by November 11, 2022. After several delays and rescheduling we are still waiting for this company to honor their commitment. The installation was not completed due to company’s incorrect measurements or poor fabrication and installation failures. Designs in Stone insisted on a completion date of Friday morning December 2, which caused me to reschedule my appointments for that morning, which I did only to have them come back two days later and insist that they reschedule again. This project, scheduled through Home Depot, was required to be paid totally in advance. I now find myself with no leverage with a company that has their money and no incentive to preform.

Great job installing of my new countertop. Looks great, installers has to come back for a second round because he noticed our sink was cracked. I'm grateful for his integrity to not install a cracked sink just to say the job was complete. Thanks for the fantastic new upgrade!

The team of 2 men they sent were very efficient. They had everything done in about an hour. No muss....no fuss.....thats the way to run a business. A lady from their office, I belive was Jessica, was very helpful with questions I had and did courtesy calls to make sure everything was set up and planned. Great communication. Thats the way you run a business!!!
