Can not recommend. Followed GPS to the location. Had a sign on the side of the road and parked in a small parking lot. No other signs or guidance. Looks like someone's house, walked to the 2 obvious buildings and no, nothi g looked welcoming or like a shop at all. Confusing and frustrating.
Will not come back, what a waste of time.

I have had the Carloftis gardens at Rockcastle on my list of places to see since first reading about the beautiful Gardens created by John. Recently relocated to Central Ky, and decided to make the trip to Rockcastle. Internet search showed hours open for today, however when arrived, there was no one there and the House was vacant. I am so disappointed and confused as to why there was misinformation on the Website.

Had the best afternoon at the open house in November!! We enjoyed all the beautiful crafts, conversations with the Carloftis family members, and Three Toad Farm floral workshop. The memoir tape by Betsy Carloftis is a treasure and will endear you even more to the uniqueness of the Rockcastle River Trading Post.

Nice little shop with an assortment of home decor and gift items. We stopped in while traveling. Owner was very friendly and helpful - told us about other place to see in the area. We walked in the gardens and to the overlook of the river. Bought some nice tea and French soap. Highly recommend.

A Kentucky landmark! Unique products, fantastic customer service, and a public garden. I like to go shop then sit in the back and enjoy the view. PS: Out of town guests go crazy!

A very unique, quaint, yet high end shopping experience in the small town of Livingston, KY. Warm and inviting hosts who make you feel right at home in their lovely river view shop.

We pulled in this past Friday at 5:30, we noticed signs that said they closed at 5:00 but we have been driving by here for the better part of 3 years now and wanted to see it so we walked around just a little bit, we weren't intrusive or anything but after seeing just a portion of it we will definitely be back. We go camping at our friend's campground down the road Rockcastle Riverside quite often but we're typically pulling into the campground when we have to be doing something and we usually leave on Sundays when this place is closed but we are definitely going to make it a point to stop there next time we hit the river, well worth our drive off the interstate just to see a portion of it, it's beautiful!

Nice little garden in Livingston. The fella running it is very nice and helpful. He has a quaint gift shop with many items made in Kentucky. Don't trust Google Maps, we had to call to find it. It is on the other side of Livingston from where Google had us. The garden is nice and has a trail. We weren't able to walk all of it because there were prom photos happening and we didn't want to disturb. The parking lot is a bit tight. You can check out the peacocks and guineas as well.
