This place is a joke. For $1350 a month, you would think there would be care for its tenants. I moved in the last week of August to an ‘average’ 2 bedroom. Within the first week I submitted maintenance requests for the garbage disposal and the HVAC. Here is it a month later and neither have been fixed. My air conditioner freezes up after turning it on and it attempts to cool. My apartment is between 75-80 degrees right now which is tolerable sitting under a floor fan. The master bedroom doesn’t seem to have any air conditioning at all. It stays hot, I can deal with a window unit in there. Fix the freaking AC!
Hannah at the office has argued with me over the garbage disposal. Saying it worked, now it’s ‘new’, then evaded it not working at all. i have yet to have it fixed. It doesn’t run, water backs up in my sinks, the dishwasher almost overflows to run. For a month I haven’t even been able to utilize the kitchen sink!
My downstairs neighbors have said they needed electrical work as the bathroom gfci’s hasn’t worked for months and reported.
Save your money, find you a responsible and respectful place to rent.

We originally moved here three years ago, and we will never come back. This is a warning to everyone else looking for a place to live avoid this place. originally the “luxury” apartment was our home and it has now been filled with drug addicts and thieves. The management is full of empty promises and have zero regard for the resident’s safety and way of life. There have been multiple incidents where we have gone without AC during the summer and there was quote “ nothing that they could do”while living here there has been three different instances THIS YEAR where trees have fallen on residences cars due to lack of maintenance on the property. While discussing the lack of maintenance on the property while walking around, you will find dog poop in bags, literal meth needles, baby diapers, gunshot shells, and vomit going down the side on the balcony from neighbors. Not only is the grass and parking lot covered in filth but so are the walkways or staircases leading to your “home”. Speaking of the balconies and patios 90% of them have rotten railings and beams that make it a safety hazard to even use. The gym is absolutely disgusting and is covered in mildew and mold, half the equipment is covered in brown goo from the lack of cleaning and the other half have been broken for the past year. On top of that the lovely pool that is part of the property is never open. Multiple neighbors at This apartment complex have had there cars towed and broken into while in the parking lot but the building managers are too cheap to buy security cameras for the safety of their residents. All in all this apartment complex that we once called home has become a complete joke and a bio hazard to society.

I am so very happy with my experience at this complex! It has recently been taken over by new management and the ladies at the office have been so incredibly helpful with my whole move in experience. Tracy and Sandra stayed late on a Friday evening for me to sort out my lease and let me get moved in before the weekend. The apartment is clean, comfortable, and I feel very safe at this complex. Thank you so much!

Whoever works the front desk now has absolutely lost her mind. There is not an ounce of professionalism. Not a single I’m sorry in the whole three minute conversation she just wanted to argue. After two weeks of no sink, she believes others have “emergencies” that are more pressing. The animal in my wall, my dryer system not working, and the broken gutter are also not “emergencies”. I will be looking into breaking my lease because this place is garbage. Two trash cans for dog poop that are never emptied, the pool opened mid July, and a maintenance man is harder to find than a diamond. Do not live here.

This is the worst apartment complex in Lexington. Very poorly managed, just opened the pool here in August, AC units do not work, washers and dryers do not work. I’ve been living with raccoons for 5 months with no sight of it being fixed, I come home from work to a house thats 80 degrees, they’ve raised our rent by $250 the last three years but here I am paying $1400 a month to live with raccoons and no AC. Pathetic place.

I regret moving here for several reasons.
The good reviews are fake. Management encouraged residents to leave good reviews to have a chance at winning a TV. Pics of the email about it included. Don't trust the ratings on apartment websites either, they pick and choose which reviews they want to allow and deny my review every time saying it breaks the terms.
I've lived here for over 2 years now and have had numerous major problems. But I will focus on the issues with current management, because it changes every few months, no exaggeration.
The office, no matter the hours, is almost never available to answer calls.
Expect them to add an additional $50 in random fees to what they say your rent will be, but you won't learn about that until after you've signed the lease :)
There was no emergency maintenance line for several weeks at one point, which is a big issue because the AC units here very frequently quit working. At one point a year ago, nearly half of the complex had no working ac, so the units are unreliable at best. There is currently ONE maintenance employee that I know of, and while he is pleasant and responsive, it is simply not enough for a complex with dozens of apartments that are old and consistently have issues.
I had to buy attachments for the outlets because all of them are so loose that anything you plug in falls out. Completely unusable on their own. The water pressure in my bathroom sink is so poor that it can't wash soap off my hands.
If you move here, expect to have to go to a Laundromat elsewhere because NONE of their washers rinse out the detergent, and the dryers don't get warm or dry clothes. 3 cycles in the dryer and you'll still be pulling out soaked clothes.
The pool was only opened in July, when there isn't much longer of warm weather.
Their koi pond has been in an awful state for the entire time I have lived here. It is way too shallow, no one feeds the fish, the filter and fountain is broken and never fixed so the water stinks from having no circulation.
Do not walk in the grass unless you want to step in very large piles of dog feces. The sidewalk isn't always safe from it either. Residents are able to keep huge dogs that aren't picked up after, yet there is a 10 gallon limit to any fish tanks you can have.
In the time I have been here, I have seen as many as 6 mattresses in the dumpster at one time, along with couches and other furniture. In order to renew our lease, management required us to sign an additional bedbug waiver saying that a tenant can't sue for damage and property loss if a tenant gets bedbugs and will be responsible for pest control costs, so I greatly suspect there are several infected units. Thankfully I haven't had an issue yet, but it seems that some are and this waiver is a crooked way of avoiding being held responsible when it inevitably spreads.
If I had the choice over again, I would have definitely moved elsewhere.
*Edit - August 5th
Management has been changed again for the 2nd or 3rd time this year. They're playing hot potato with this place, steer clear.

I have to say we now have new management and maintenance and these apartments are looking better than they have been in over 2 years. If you have looked here before to rent, I seriously would tell you to try again, things are much different than they were in the past.
Thank you, new management and maintenance.

We have lived at shillito for a year in half and we love it here! There is so much to do! A salt water pool, a theater for you to kick back and relax to your favorite movie or show, a gym, laundry room and a beautiful park in walking distance! The apartment is beautiful and the people at the front office are always kind and ready to help!

Why is the pool still not open? This is literally included in our rent. It was supposed to be open a month ago!

This is an overall great place to live. It backs up to the park, it is in a great location, and it is close to lots of shopping and restaurants. Since it has been under new management the last few months, they have done a great job in trying to improve the property and living conditions. I would highly recommend it!

I just recently moved in and am enjoying living here so far! The May move-in special was a game changer for me and my roommate. So far this apartment has had everything we need with an affordable rent compared to other similar apartment complexes! I love the location and that has been recently renovated!
